About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for directing and managing all warehouse operations, with overall accountability for Safety, Quality, Delivery, People, and Cost. This role ensures efficient receiving, storage, and distribution of materials while maintaining compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in the metal or industrial products distribution industry.
  • Forklift operation experience required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Order picking and batch control experience.
  • Loading and unloading of trucks.

  • Knowledge of logistics, logistics technology, and business software systems (SAP preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to walk extensively and stand for prolonged periods during the workday.
  • Must adhere at all times to Cambridge Lee Life Safety Rules.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or five years of plant/general management experience in a manufacturing or distribution/warehouse environment preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all warehouse operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective performance.
  • Plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, storage, and distribution of materials from suppliers and production areas.
  • Ensure materials and supplies are accurately located, controlled, and distributed to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Manage warehouse operations in compliance with company policies, mission, and vision.
  • Enforce operational, health, and safety policies; actively lead and promote safe work practices.
  • Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
  • Verify accuracy and completion of all shipping and receiving documentation.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the sales team regarding shipping, tracking, delivery, and inventory-related issues.
  • Plan work schedules, prioritize activities, assign tasks, and evaluate results.
  • Develop, coach, and evaluate employees to improve performance and support professional growth; address performance issues and recommend personnel actions when necessary.
  • Implement cost-effective controls over capital, operating expenses, and staffing.
  • Establish, monitor, and report warehouse performance metrics related to productivity and quality.
  • Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight, and repair expenses.
  • Maintain budget compliance and recommend initiatives to improve cost performance.
  • Manage inventory control, including cycle counts.
  • Oversee material disposition and claims processing as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
