About The Position

The Harper Distribution Warehouse Manager oversees all warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, picking, packing, inventory, storing, and distributing goods. This position will manage all aspects of Inventory Management, the distribution facility, and ensure a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves leading a small team of warehouse associates, optimizing processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of warehouse management or supervisory experience in a distribution or logistics environment required.
  • Forklift experience required. Use of manlifts and other equipment may be necessary.
  • Ability to drive a truck, box truck, or similar vehicle.
  • Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Experience in Inventory Management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office products
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Organized individual, with problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Must be able to successfully complete and achieve a passing score on a Fit for Duty physical abilities test.
  • Ability to pass a preemployment drug screen.
  • Valid DL with the ability to pass a DMV review and continuous monitoring.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field or equivalent experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily warehouse activities, including shipping, receiving, storing, picking, and packing of goods to meet customer and company standards.
  • Supervise a team of warehouse associates, including scheduling, training, payroll, and making recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, and promotion based on performance, safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Oversee inventory management software and processes, including cycle counts, audits, and reporting to maintain accurate stock levels to minimize discrepancies.
  • Maintain efficient warehouse scheduling and maintenance to ensure productivity, monitor costs, and enhance order accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations (DOT and OSHA), conduct weekly safety training, and maintain a clean and organized environment with proper tooling and PPE.
  • Oversee the use, operation, training, certification, and maintenance of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, man lifts, power tools, and sweepers.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order fulfillment rates, inventory accuracy, employee productivity, and other metrics as assigned.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, clients, contractors and other departments to ensure timely shipments, delivery, and receipt of goods.
  • Assist in coordinating trucking, loading/unloading trailers, and tracking shipments.
  • Communicate daily to clients, management and contractors through email, phone, and in person for fulfillment updates, challenges, needs, or concerns.
  • Assist in creating and managing warehouse budgets, financials, and timelines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
  • Manage facility repairs, improvements, and inspections.
  • Ability to construct and make repairs on pallets, crates, and shipping containers
  • Assist in developing and maintaining warehouse layouts, workflows, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Other Duties as assigned
