About The Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, administrative functions, inventory control processes, and daily workflow to ensure efficient and organized support of production, installation, and customer service activities. This position serves as a key leader within the warehouse team, ensuring accurate inventory management, timely installer load-outs, vendor coordination, and strong interdepartmental communication. The Warehouse Manager maintains operational excellence, safety compliance, and professional representation of Metro Carpets at all times.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 3–5 years of warehouse experience; Management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of inventory management systems
  • Forklift certification or the ability to become certified
  • Strong understanding of inventory control processes and cycle counting procedures
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills across all departments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; able to complete daily tasks without delay
  • Effective problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and lead a team effectively
  • Strong administrative and documentation skills
  • Physical ability to lift materials, operate warehouse equipment, and perform warehouse tasks
  • Professional demeanor and ability to always represent Metro Carpets in a professional manner

Responsibilities

  • Manage all duties and tasks within the warehouse office
  • Oversee all administrative functions necessary to maintain an efficient and organized warehouse
  • Manage and track all job folders assigned to the warehouse; ensure proper processing and documentation
  • Screen pick tickets to verify correct line status, location accuracy, inventory housekeeping, and material quantities
  • Process all exception paperwork, inventory notes, and related corrective actions
  • Oversee installer load-out schedules to ensure smooth, accurate, and timely departures
  • Address pick ticket discrepancies and coordinate additional material needs with the Installation Manager, Service Department, Inventory, and Warehouse teams
  • Ensure completion of weekly job cost, installer supply invoices, and submit to Installer Payroll
  • Enter and complete Cash & Carry sales transactions
  • Prepare and complete required month-end reports
  • Opening up the warehouse for morning loadouts with the subcontractors
  • Lock and secure warehouse facility daily, including the collection of forklift keys and securing company vehicles
  • Serve as a critical leader and active member of the warehouse team
  • Communicate daily task assignments clearly to warehouse personnel
  • Follow up to ensure daily responsibilities are completed accurately and efficiently
  • Act as liaison between the Warehouse and all other departments, ensuring excellent communication and teamwork
  • Identify operational problems or deficiencies and take corrective action as needed.
  • Ensure all warehouse functions are completed daily with no loose ends
  • Maintain a strong organizational structure and ensure materials are always stored properly
  • Be capable of independently performing all warehouse functions and stepping in when necessary
  • Execute directives from the Production Manager and communicate operational concerns promptly
  • Assist with additional warehouse activities as needed
  • Operate fork truck equipment in a safe and professional manner
  • Always maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment
  • Perform basic outdoor facility maintenance, trash removal, and parking lot cleaning
  • Participate in safety training and comply with all company safety policies
  • Maintain strong safety awareness in all activities
  • Oversee the cycle count plan, delegate daily counts, maintain annual count schedule, and reconcile inventory discrepancies
  • Perform cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliations
  • Coordinate and oversee year-end inventory count
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and facilitate timely, equitable corrections
  • Maintain responsibility for all inventory-related issues
  • Ensure inventory lines are properly cut on all daily load-out folders
  • Maintain awareness of stock levels and communicate reorder needs to Purchasing
  • Initiate material orders as necessary.
  • Oersee receiving procedures and resolves receiving discrepancies
  • Develop proficient knowledge of ERP modules
  • Always maintain proper inventory housekeeping and location control
  • Oversee vendor unloading and address delivery issues promptly
  • Communicate directly with vendors regarding delivery errors
  • Complete and manage all claims paperwork, documentation, notes, and related communications
  • Coordinate with Claims Department when required
