About The Position

Primary Responsibility Receive, catalog, stage, and ship network equipment to and from the Logistics and Staging Facility Specific Duties Inspect, catalog, and visually identify network equipment such as: Routers, DWDM (Dense Wave Division Multiplexing) equipment, optical Ethernet devices CMTS (Cable Modem Termination Systems), servers, storage devices, video equipment CDV (Voice over IP telephony) equipment and associated installation materials Assemble/disassemble modules, power supplies, and processors in routers, CMTS devices, and optical equipment per engineering standards. Complete hardware configuration and pre-staging of servers, power supplies, drives, and memory according to work orders. Assemble DWDM/Ethernet/Sonet modules, pluggable components, and line cards. Prepare deployment readiness kits. Follow proper ESD handling procedures when working with electronic equipment. Coordinate with Inventory Control and Deployment Engineering on equipment deployment requests. Assist Staging Lab Engineers in populating routers, switches, and servers. Maintain accountability and accuracy of all assets in inventory (valued at $75M+) with 98% accuracy. Accurately receive equipment against packing slips and purchase orders. Operate forklift for loading/unloading trucks. Verify packing slips and submit them to Business Operations promptly. Support asset recovery and redeployment of decommissioned equipment.

Requirements

  • 0–1 year experience in shipping/receiving.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic understanding of:
  • Network architectures (access/core-level switch-routers, servers, CMTSs)
  • Equipment interconnections and interoperability
  • Handling complex electronic network equipment
  • Knowledge of interface standards: Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet (fiber/copper), 10-Gigabit Ethernet.
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Sun, Dell, and HP hardware.
  • Understanding proper ESD handling.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with IP network equipment, IP transport equipment, and video equipment (preferred).
