The Warehouse Lead is responsible for leading, directing and mentoring a shipping crew(s) in the efficient and safe production/package and storage of customer product. The Warehouse Lead ensures the highest integrity of the customer’s product, preventing any contamination by ensuring adherence to established standardized processes and customer requirements. The Warehouse Lead understands current customer needs and requirements, and drives his/her crew to exceed customer expectations, while meeting or exceeding established productivity goals. The Warehouse Lead is expected to work with management to understand all customer packaging and storage requirements to ensure the proper warehousing of product. He/She communicates with supervisory staff regarding occurring or potential issues with packouts, contamination issues, or damaged railcars. The Warehouse Lead ensures the accurate reporting of production packout and productivity reporting, as well as monitoring and verifying the accurate input of information into WMS, thereby ensuring optimum inventory accuracy. The Warehouse Lead reports directly to the Operations Manager or Facility Manager communicating any and all customer and/or company related deficiencies in a timely and effective manner. The Warehouse Lead acts in a leadership capacity working closely with management to maintain customer requirements and satisfaction while ensuring that the company’s goals and standards are met. He/She mentors and assists in developing co-workers to assure all company and customer requirements are met. He/She must use appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to develop effective partnerships to meet mutual goals and objectives, demonstrating a strong ability to analyze data, evaluate situations and identify problems or opportunities, including likely causes.
