About The Position

The Warehouse Lead oversees a group of employees within BOX Partner’s warehouse in Forest Park GA to safely deliver products to BOX Partners’ customers with speed and quality. This leadership role is challenging and appeals to people who have a keen sense of ownership and enjoy the work that goes into launching a new operation. A BOX Partners warehouse is a complex operation that requires leaders who have a passion for working in a safety and quality-focused, high-volume warehouse environment, and who exhibit with strong people leadership skills. These skills are imperative in leading all aspects of their department, which may range across receiving, picking, shipping, transportation, or other functions. Some of the key activities of this role include allocating labor based on work available, assigning job duties, ensuring associates are working in a clean and safe environment, and supporting the Warehouse Operations Manager as required. A successful lead will be able to provide a clear direction to their team each day and ensure they have the tools and support needed to achieve their goals, while also creating an environment that fosters ideas to improve the business day after day.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and training
  • 1-3 years of experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment and a strong understanding of basic warehouse equipment such as pickers, forklifts and reach trucks
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience in heavy volume distribution.
  • 1+ year of experience working with computers and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
  • Must have open availability and flexibility with working hours and schedule
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years of age
  • Prolonged periods of standing/walking warehouse floor to observe/manage business activity.
  • Must be able to lift up to 49 pounds at times.
  • The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a department of 10+ warehouse workers
  • Assign, monitor, and evaluate the workflow of the department
  • Train employees on procedures following company policies and procedures
  • Maintain and complete documentation as needed.
  • Hands-on involvement in all aspects of distribution
  • Monitor and oversee the shipping/receiving of inbound and outbound shipments
  • Maintain, review and complete paperwork required for the shipping/receiving process
  • Use of a computer system to input, retrieve and evaluate information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
