The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations while actively working alongside the team to ensure materials, products, and equipment are accurately received, stored, staged, and distributed to support Storm Smart’s manufacturing and installation teams. This role provides day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to warehouse staff, ensuring workflows are efficient, inventory is handled correctly, and safety and housekeeping standards are consistently upheld. The Warehouse Lead coordinates closely with production, purchasing, and logistics teams to maintain timely material flow, resolve issues, and support continuous improvement within the warehouse. This position plays a key role in accountability, organization, and operational excellence across Storm Smart’s warehouse operations.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations, including receiving, staging, inventory handling, and material distribution
  • Proven ability to lead by example, provide daily direction, and support warehouse staff in meeting productivity and quality standards
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in material handling and inventory processes
  • Ability to coordinate workflow and communicate effectively with production, purchasing, and logistics teams
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, escalate concerns, and implement corrective actions
  • Basic computer skills and experience with inventory or ERP systems preferred
  • Ability to train, coach, and support team members on procedures, safety, and best practices
  • Strong commitment to safety, housekeeping, and operational standards
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain accountability within the team
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, carts, and forklifts (certification required upon hire))
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and handle materials and equipment throughout the shift
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 2–4 years of experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or vocational training in warehousing, logistics, supply chain, or manufacturing preferred
  • Prior lead, senior, or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Hands-on experience with shipping/receiving, material staging, and inventory support
  • Experience coordinating daily workflow and supporting production or installation teams
  • Basic computer, Microsoft Excel and inventory/ERP system experience preferred
  • Proven record of dependability, organization, and safety awareness in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the integrity of the whiteboards to ensure windows can be found quickly and in the right locations.
  • Bundle all items needed for service so the service department can grab and go in the morning.
  • Receiving materials/Check in of Materials.
  • Stock/Locate materials in proper bin and location.
  • Stage materials needed for service techs and installers.
  • Assist Installers in obtaining parts.
  • Drive, Deliver and communicate with installers for materials need to complete installation, Unloading Semi-trailer (Must be able to lift to 75lbs)
  • Receiving/checking delivered items into the warehouse.
  • Process packing slips in Acumatica.
  • Organize service jobs on schedule to ensure items are not missing.
  • Stage jobs that are scheduled for service.
  • RMA – Processing returns items quickly.
  • Assist with Staging and locations of items to be found quickly and easily.
  • Logging item locations on whiteboard.
  • Perform product inventory counts.
  • Perform product inventory audits.
  • Perform weekly housekeeping inspections.
