As a warehouse associate, you may work in one of two areas: Warehouse Inventory Control or Warehouse Clerk. In Warehouse Inventory Control, you will review inventory, reconcile discrepancies, identify shortages, and maintain records. As a Warehouse Clerk, you will confirm product accuracy, address discrepancies and damages, and communicate with contacts to resolve issues. In both roles, you will operate material handling equipment like forklifts, cherry pickers, turrets, or electric pallet jacks while adhering to safety procedures. You will be essential to the success of Staples Supply Chain, and safety is a top priority, requiring you to ensure safe work practices and embrace our safety culture.

Requirements

• Ability to perform and understand warehouse operations
• Ability to work independently
• Demonstrate analytical thinking including mathematic skills and the ability to solve problems
• Ability to work on a computer using Windows including Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
• Ability to learn/understand WMS systems
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with all members of the team, at all levels to ensure successful customer outcomes
• An inclusive approach with your colleagues and customers to forge strong relationships and foster collaboration to resolve issues
• Ability to adopt our safety procedures quickly and ensure safe work practices
• Ability to be trained and Material Handling Equipment certified to operate power material handling equipment, i.e. Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack, etc.
• Basic English language skills (both verbal and written communications)
• Ability to pass a drug screen to the extent permissible legally
• Ability to work additional hours beyond scheduled shift; additional overtime hours will be required based on business need (if hired as a Full-Time associate)
• Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet or more as needed
• An ability to lift, push or pull boxes/merchandise weighing between 70 pounds and 100 pounds by hand
• Must wear safety composite work shoes
• Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time
• Must be at least 18 years old

Nice To Haves

• 1+ year of related experience in a warehouse environment; including MHE experience, ability to become certified (i.e. Driving forklift, cherry picker, turret, or Electric Pallet Jack), and Inventory Control
• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Review inventory of product

• Perform basic housekeeping in assigned areas of warehouse
