About The Position

The Forklift Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of product and materials throughout UDA's dry warehouse facilities. This position involves operating forklifts to load and unload shipments, receiving and storing production, maintaining accurate inventory records, and performing equipment inspections and preventive maintenance. The operator will work between the Alameda and 1013 warehouses as needed, coordinating closely with the warehouse team to ensure seamless logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player who can work independently during 12-hour shifts (primarily nights) while maintaining strict adherence to quality, safety, and food safety standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to safely drive and operate forklift
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shifts (primarily night shift)
  • Requires ability to read, hear, speak, and comprehend and carry out verbal and written instruction in English
  • Requires ability to work with minimal direction and by self at times.
  • Requires ability to manage time effectively
  • Requires ability to communicate clearly with warehouse co-workers frequently
  • Must have at least one year of previous experience, preferably operating a forklift or other heavy machinery
  • High School Diploma or Educational Equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Perform Plant Forklift Operator duties as assigned.
  • Communicate and work closely with team members, Warehouse Team lead, and Lead Operator to accomplish goals.
  • On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklift or other job specific equipment.
  • Perform weekly forklift, scissor lift and pallet jack PM’s as assigned.
  • Re-stack pallets, pull outbound loads, stage and prepare paperwork accordingly.
  • Put away new production and record accurately.
  • Accurately check in and load driver/truck including verification of load number, schedule, truck weight, pallet numbers, bags counts, etc.
  • Efficiently stack and store product in the appropriate areas including the drive in racking at Alameda warehouse
  • Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into trailers or other shipping containers.
  • Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage and perform trailer inspections on iPad
  • Verify cleanliness of pallets to be loaded and clean as necessary.
  • Communicate with Plant Forklift Operator to coordinate any needed trailer moves.
  • Move between the Alameda and 1013 warehouses as necessary.
  • Fill in for the Plant Forklift position as needed to cover absences, vacations
  • Ability to access forms and perform all system functions associated with day to day job duties including but not limited to the AS400 and ETQ systems.
  • Perform cleaning of racks according to rotation.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.
  • Adhere to all SOP’s and HACCP guidelines.
  • Adhere to all UDA quality, safety, and GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
  • Other duties as required.
