Essential Details Shift: Third Shift (6:00 PM – until completion) Schedule: Monday through Friday; occasional weekends and holidays may be required. Schedule is subject to change based on warehouse volume and operational needs Department: Grocery / Dry Goods Location: 1500 Brooks Ave, Rochester, NY Competitive Salary: $64,000 Requirement: A valid driver’s license is required for this role. Unfortunately, we are unable to proceed further with your application without it. What You’ll Own As a Department Manager, you are the decision-maker on the floor. You’ll lead unloading operations, direct your team, and ensure every shift runs safely, efficiently, and on time. How You’ll Make an Impact Success in this role is measured by outcomes—not activity. Requirements

  • Experience in warehouse, distribution, or unloading operations
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage people, production, and priorities simultaneously
  • Basic math and attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a background check and drug test

  • 1+ years of leadership experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily warehouse operations and unloading activities
  • Assign work, manage workflows, and ensure timely completion of all loads
  • Lead, coach, and develop associates, leads, and backup leads
  • Drive hiring, promotions, and performance management decisions
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of daily operational activity
  • Partner with operations leadership, customers, and transportation teams
  • Maintain compliance with all FHI policies, procedures, and safety standards
  • Run daily huddles to align the team on goals and assignments
  • Monitor performance and adjust workflows in real time
  • Conduct safety inspections and enforce safe work practices
  • Ensure clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas
  • Verify load accuracy and completion
  • Oversee timekeeping, audits, and approvals
  • Train and mentor team members to build bench strength
