About The Position

The Warehouse Coordinator supports efficient, accurate, and food safe warehouse operations by coordinating daily activities across receiving, inventory, production, fulfillment, and distribution for the Community Food Bank (CFB). This position ensures all product movement and documentation are timely, compliant, and aligned with safety and regulatory standards. The Warehouse Coordinator also acts as a primary liaison between warehouse operations, food sourcing, and donor logistics. This role is essential to maintaining service reliability, timely product delivery, and effective cross functional coordination. Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience; food or nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, and aptitude to learn other software platforms.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License with a clean driving record; ability to travel to CFB locations.
  • Knowledge of warehouse scheduling, inventory processes, and product flow.
  • Working understanding of food safety protocols and sanitation standards.
  • Experience with inventory management systems and handheld scanning tools (e.g., P2).
  • Basic math and literacy skills for inventory documentation and reading product labels.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, and ability to learn new software platforms.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and listening skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and experiences.
  • Strong organizational and problem solving abilities with attention to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust to shifting operational needs.
  • Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as required.
  • Ability to adapt to changing operational needs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required food safety certification and equipment certifications, including electric pallet jack and forklift certification, within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of warehouse, logistics, or food distribution experience.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating electric pallet jacks, reach trucks, or similar equipment.
  • Current food handling and food safety certification.
  • Experience with FIFO/FEFO rotation and warehouse quality control practices.
  • Familiarity with AIB, Feeding America, or USDA food safety standards.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Warehouse Operations Coordinate and monitor daily warehouse activities, including receiving, staging, pallet management, and product movement.
  • Create item records during the receiving process within the warehouse management system, ensuring accurate descriptions, units of measure, and storage locations.
  • Maintain accurate inbound transaction records using handheld scanners and inventory software.
  • Support FIFO and FEFO rotation practices to maintain product freshness, safety, and quality.
  • Assist with cycle counts, inventory reconciliation, and physical inventory processes.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies in coordination with Inventory and Warehouse Leads.
  • Provide backup support for Receiving and Inventory functions as needed.
  • Safety, Compliance & Food Handling Ensure compliance with AIB, Feeding America, OSHA, and USDA food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Report safety incidents, equipment issues, and operational concerns promptly to supervisors.
  • Oversee safe handling, loading, and storage of food products and supplies.
  • Maintain food safe workflows and ensure warehouse cleanliness at all times.
  • Partner, Donor & Driver Relations Greet and assist over the road drivers and agency partners at the dock, ensuring a professional, efficient experience.
  • Communicate with the Department of Economic Security (DES) regarding receipt of TEFAP, CSFP, and other USDA food products.
  • Coordinate incoming donated and purchased deliveries with the Food Security and Community Development teams.
  • Cross-Functional & Volunteer Support Communicate with Inventory, Production, and Fulfillment teams to align priorities and ensure timely service.
  • Provide guidance to volunteers on workflows, food handling, and safety protocols.
  • Support special projects and operational initiatives as needed.
