About The Position

To direct the daily activities of a warehouse or account, including labor scheduling, and proper utilization of space and equipment as directed by Distribution Manager. To coach, train, and direct associates while participating in daily productivity. Our expectation is that all employees, customers, vendors will perform in a manner that will ensure long term success. This includes flexibility to work hours needed (including overtime, weekends and holidays), reliability, a "Whatever it Takes" attitude, willingness to learn new tasks, initiative to seek out additional work and participate in meetings, maintaining high quality of work, following directions, professional communication, appropriate appearance, and adherence to safety rules. The role involves planning and scheduling all distribution services (receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance, administrative activities) to meet customer requirements, understanding customer contract requirements, ensuring SOP and customer work instructions are followed, directing and overseeing job assignments, planning daily labor schedules, motivating and leading the team, assisting the Distribution Manager in training and cross-training employees, and ensuring current and accurate inventory control. Safety and security responsibilities include following food/safety SOPs and AIB standards, reporting equipment and facility damage, and driving a culture of safety. The coordinator is also responsible for maintaining the image, appearance, and sanitation of all departments and equipment, ensuring neat and orderly product storage, directing disposal or repack of non-conforming products, and assisting with monthly facility audits. Customer service involves interfacing directly with customers, maintaining professional relationships, and ensuring immediate responses and follow-ups to customer requests. General duties include communicating company information via pre-shift meetings and continuously evaluating ways to improve department accuracy and efficiencies.

Requirements

  • Must be able to twist, squat and reach above shoulder level.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets.

  • Direct and oversee job assignments and plan daily labor schedules.
  • Motivate and lead the team to achieve stated objectives.
  • Develop and maintain a productive work team by assisting the Distribution Manager in training and cross training of employees.
  • Assist Distribution Manager to ensure current and accurate inventory control for each account.
  • Follow food/safety SOPs and AIB standards.
  • Report equipment and facility building/grounds damage and repairs.
  • Drive a culture of safety throughout the company to achieve safety goals and objectives.
  • Follow safety and security policies and SOPs.
  • Ensure all departments’ equipment and overall appearance is maintained as defined by the company.
  • Report deviations to Distribution Manager.
  • Ensure storage of product is in a neat and orderly fashion according to customer requirements.
  • Direct disposal or repack of non-conforming products per the customer’s work instructions.
  • Assist with monthly facility audits.
  • Interface directly with the customer and maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all customers.
  • Ensure customer requests are responded to immediately.
  • Provide follow-up to customers to ensure that problem is resolved or being worked on.
  • Communicate company information via pre-shift meetings as directed by Distribution Manager.
  • Continuously evaluate ways to improve the accuracy and efficiencies of department (identifying at least 1 significant improvement annually).
