About The Position

Our teams interact directly with our customers including students, faculty, administration, alumni, and the general public to provide outstanding customer service to sell or rent books, general merchandise, and an array of products and services for an academic community. Barnes & Noble College is seeking dynamic, friendly, and customer-focused team members to as temporary team members for a period of 90 days or less in our Shipping & Receiving department. In Shipping & Receiving you will spend the majority of your time between a warehouse setting and the sales floor ensuring the store has the products to service our customers.
Requirements
- Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age to be considered for employment.
- Friendly personality, with strong communication skills to interact with a variety of people.
- Outstanding customer service skills to work with vendors, customers, and team members.
- Basic math, keyboarding, and data entry skills.
- Flexibility in scheduling is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assist with shipments, orders, and invoices—verifying all for accuracy.
- Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping.
- Use hand tools, power tools, online shipping services, or postage meters.
- Maintain a working knowledge of all departments in the store to be able to greet and provide support to customers and team members.
- Shelve, arrange, and categorize stock according to specific criteria that changes frequently.
- Clean the store and warehouse are to maintain a safe and efficient work floor.
- May provide periodic assistance with processing sales transactions involving cash, credit, or financial aid payments.
- Routine housekeeping including, for example, dusting, mopping, window cleaning, vacuuming, trash removal.
