About The Position

The Warehouse Associate reports to the Operations VP/Manager. The Warehouse Associate receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties. Shipping Reads picking list to identify material to be picked and reviews special instructions. Retrieves items from inventory and moves material to predetermined dock location Alerts Supervisor or Customer Service of any shortages or discrepancies. Pickers are required to have all items double checked and notated on picking list (this process can be done by self if OK’d by supervisor) May be required to re-stack, label, place protective packaging material, stretch wrap and placard palletized material with identifying information Is required to work with fellow warehouse associates to verify accuracy and completeness of shipping documents. Inspects all trucks to determine if they’re OK to load (clean, dry, odor free, etc.) and fills information on Outbound Trailer Inspection Report(s). Prior to loading LTL confirms all orders for carrier are ready and load all. Places material on carrier and has driver sign BOL(s) and for pieces when necessary. Prepares UPS parcels for shipment, all UPS shipments must be checked by a supervisor or Lead Warehouseman. Is courteous to customers and truck drivers Receiving Inspects all incoming trailers for cleanliness and seal if required. Identifies product being received, inspects for evidence of damage and infestation, photographs and consults with supervisor if necessary Ensure proper disposition of damaged product and cleans up any mess associated with it. Compares physical count of product being received with purchase order Records items, lot #'s, quantity in the receiving process, confirms allergen status and labels all material accordingly. Transports materials and items received and places into designated areas noting physical location during the process Signs and dates receiving report Promptly and accurately completes paperwork and forwards documents to Purchasers the same day Alerts purchasing of any MAJOR discrepancies between receiving report and purchase order Assures stock rotation by repositioning product on hand Is courteous to all truck drivers Compliance & Safety Directly supports the sanitation effort by adhering to all warehouse safety and sanitation regulations. Complies with all procedural or documentation requirements as they relate to SQF (Safe Quality Food) or general safety. Provides support staff to the Warehouse Lead in maintaining a sanitation level in the warehouse at SQF certification standard. Includes warehouse organization, outside grounds, receiving and ship practices, housekeeping practices, merchandise storage conditions, and insect, rodent and vermin control. General Warehouse Duties Participates in the taking of physical inventory To includes warehouse organization, outside grounds, receiving and shipping practices, provision for sanitary facilities and control, housekeeping practices, merchandise storage conditions, and insect, rodent, and vermin control Clerical/General Administrative Provides support to the Warehouse Lead and Operations VP/Manager in preparing shipping documents with the use of a standard PC Makes copies, prints documents, mail delivery, etc. as needed Files paperwork as needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in a warehouse setting preferred
  • Forklift experience required
  • Intermediate computer skills preferred
  • Detail oriented, organized, highly accurate, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Conscientious and flexible to the changing needs and demands of work.
  • Able to work independently and demonstrate initiative in decision making in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team building skills; gains the trust and respect of colleagues and direct reports.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
