About The Position

As a Warehouse Associate and Backup Driver with Colony Hardware, you will assist in the picking, packing, staging, loading, and (as needed) the delivery of construction materials and products. To do this you will utilize your willingness to produce high quality, detailed and accurate work to ensure the mission to provide excellent customer service is completed. From day to day, you will safely load and unload construction materials such as form panels, fabricated rebar, lumber, wire mesh, tools, fasteners, and other supplies. You will safely operate a forklift or similar equipment as needed to stage, load, unload, or move product. You will assist with all warehouse activities, shipping, and receiving responsibilities as assigned. You will maintain a clean and organized work environment to ensure that items are easy to locate and in appropriate locations. As needed, you will operate a non-CDL vehicle (often a straight flatbed truck), including the loading and unloading of customer orders and securely strapping down orders for delivery. When operating a vehicle, you will perform any needed pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle, equipment, paperwork, and loaded product to ensure your and others' safety. When delivering product, you will check in frequently with the customer to announce arrival, collect payment, and ensure all signatures are received where appropriate.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a warehouse, shipping, receiving or packaging environment.
  • A minimum of 3 years of prior driving experience and deliveries.
  • To be at least 21 years of age.
  • A valid driver's license with a sustained record of safe driving.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs unassisted.
  • Ability to work on your feet and perform physical work.
  • Ability to navigate computer applications and websites.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating a forklift is a plus.
