About The Position

This position involves performing general duties associated with warehouse distribution. The role also serves as a backup driver, responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient delivery of products to customers and/or branches. Delivery responsibilities are secondary to the warehouse duties and will be performed when business needs require additional delivery support. Key responsibilities include tasks across various warehouse departments such as shipping, receiving, order picking, inventory, and delivery, with potential for assistance throughout the warehouse. The role also requires operating various company-provided delivery vehicles, transporting materials, and maintaining communication for delivery instructions.

Requirements

  • CDL drivers license
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1-year work experience
  • Basic PC skills with MS Office Products
  • Operate computer terminal and other computer related equipment relevant to job duties
  • High level of initiative, commitment, and devotion to fulfill company mission statement
  • Successful completion of a DOT physical
  • Good, verifiable driving record
  • Forklift training and certification

  • Warehousing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform all requirements of assigned department(s) (shipping, receiving, order picking, inventory, delivery, etc.)
  • Provide assistance throughout the warehouse as the work flow requires
  • Ensure verification takes place on all incoming and outgoing transactions
  • Receive material from vendors into the business system and maintain related records
  • Assist with unloading and loading of delivery vehicles
  • Assist with inventory management including cycle counts
  • Frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position product weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted when stocking, loading or unloading products
  • Occasionally perform the same activities with product weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Typically bend, stoop and/or crouch on a regular basis from various heights to stock or deliver product to a customer
  • If assigned to the construction product area, frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position product weighing 75+ pounds unassisted when stocking, loading or unloading products
  • Operate forklift (proper training and certification required)
  • Use material handling equipment (including pallet jack, dollies, handcart & conveyor)
  • Support the implementation and processes of TWL (if applicable) and the quality program
  • Clean and maintain work area to ensure compliance to safety regulations
  • Operate various delivery vehicles provided by the company
  • Transport products and material to and from specified destinations
  • Load and unload the delivery vehicle
  • Maintain radio contact to receive delivery and pick up instructions
  • Check truck’s equipment and supplies to ensure roadworthiness
