About The Position

At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Area Supervisor to join the Data Center Power and Control Team in Reno, NV. Under general direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Area Supervisor directs and organizes the activities of the warehouse to maintain high standards of the operation in quality and service to maximize profits. The Warehouse Area Supervisor directs the warehouse staff to ensure that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures and goals. The Warehouse Area Supervisor provides specific supervisory responsibilities in areas such as inbound receipts, inventory control, cycle counts, outbound order audits, location audits, damage recognition, quality control and problem solving. The Warehouse Area Supervisor will manage staff in areas such as work scheduling, communications, employee relations, performance counseling and annual reviews. The Warehouse Area Supervisor, as with all members of the Legrand Team, is expected to promote a positive attitude, demonstrate initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercise confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University with emphasis in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years warehouse/distribution/manufacturing experience with at least 2 years at the management level.
  • Project management skills include planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
  • Knowledge of first aid, safety and OSHA requirements.
  • Prior experience in managing staff (supervise, train, coach, develop, motivate, interview, hire, terminate) and lead by example.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to resolve problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook).
  • Familiarity of ISO 9000 standards and audit process.
  • Work environment is fast-paced and priorities can shift quickly. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all Shipping/Receiving and Warehouse activities to ensure department objectives are met daily.
  • Oversee finished goods inventory accuracy and work with Value Stream Manager to ensure cycle counts are performed in accordance with department standards.
  • Ensure shipping, receiving, and picking accuracy by implementing proper techniques and coaching for direct reports.
  • Conduct daily Field Tour and share results during the Legrand Way meeting.
  • Actively communicate business strategy and key results to warehouse staff. Facilitate daily staff/huddle meetings to promote safety practices and open communications.
  • Maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections of warehouse machinery and identify repair and maintenance needs. Coordinates maintenance requests as required.
  • Complete related paperwork and reports in an accurate and timely manner, utilizing computer software and general office procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all ISO regulations and procedures.
  • Maintain and approve accurate time and attendance recording in Dayforce for warehouse staff.
  • Assist sales and manufacturing departments to process required shipments.
  • Assist in evaluating shipping practices for most cost-effective solutions.
  • Work with Logistics team to ensure compliance with export/import regulations.
  • Execute foreign logistics practices and transactions.
  • Promote a safe, clean and organized work environment. Ensure correct use of equipment throughout warehouse environment.
  • Provide back up support to Value Stream Manager and Production Supervisor for all facility related duties.
  • Assist manager with estimating warehouse operation costs and preparing requisitions to purchase necessary supplies.
  • Participate in safety meetings and implement safe work environment practices that meet OSHA requirements.
  • Participate in staff selection/interview process. Recruits, hires, and train all warehouse staff.
  • Supervise and provide support and direction to all warehouse staff. Resolve personnel issues and support team building with positive and open communication.
  • Support and motivate staff to participate in company sponsored classes and training, with the objective of completing individual goals and compliance with mandatory training.
