About The Position

Premier Food Supplies (PFS) is a leading distributor of Indian and South Asian foods in the USA, proudly servicing Indian restaurants and grocery stores across the Midwest since 2003. The company is seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy warehouse professional to manage inventory accuracy, product rotation, backorders, and container receiving. This role requires seamless coordination across Warehouse, Sales, and Purchasing departments. The Warehouse Administrator will partner closely with the Warehouse Manager to maintain inventory integrity, validate fulfillment decisions, and proactively identify issues before they impact operations or customers.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and comply with all applicable U.S. immigration and employment laws
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Commerce, Operations, or a related field
  • Experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, food distribution, or supply chain
  • Excel / spreadsheet proficiency
  • Ability to work onsite in Troy, Michigan
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs as needed
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • ERP or inventory management system experience (Netsuite, SAP, Quickbooks, Odoo)
  • Tech-savvy; able to quickly learn operational tools (Gmail, Gsuite)
  • Clear communication across Warehouse, Sales, and Operations
  • Highly detail-oriented and analytical; identifies discrepancies others may miss
  • Strong follow-through; closes loops and maintains accuracy
  • Product knowledge across grocery, retail, and foodservice environments
  • Ability to recommend substitutions, product variations, and upsells
  • Understand retail product dynamics (brand, size, packaging, and presentation drive sales)
  • Understand foodservice product dynamics (functional equivalent matters over brand or size)
  • Awareness of repack potential and merchandising implications
  • Ability to assess product urgency (ship immediately, allocate, or defer)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Indian grocery, restaurant or food distribution
  • Understanding of staple vs. specialty products, regional preferences, and substitutions
  • Awareness of how allocation and substitution decisions affect customers
  • Previous warehouse experience is a plus
  • Bilingual Preferred (fluent in English and Hindi)
  • Additional languages are a bonus (i.e. Spanish, Telugu, Tamil)

Responsibilities

  • Ensure FEFO (First Expired, First Out) compliance and run reports on short-dated inventory
  • Complete inventory audits and cycle counts (weekly, monthly, quarterly), resolve discrepancies
  • Verify inventory levels, backorders, LOT #s, product dates, etc.
  • Proactively identify slow-moving, aging, or at-risk SKUs
  • Support stock transfers between warehouses to optimize inventory across locations
  • Monitor backorders and apply rationing or allocation guidelines
  • Validate fulfillment decisions and recommend substitutions, variations, or upsells
  • Communicate real-time availability updates to Sales
  • Assist Sales with product availability decisions and alternatives
