Greets drivers and directs them accordingly to dock times and availability.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, SAP, and MIR preferred.
  • Must demonstrate curiosity and be polite to all customers and drivers.
  • High School diploma or general education (GED); or six months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • A valid forklift certification, which meets OSHA requirements, is required to perform the essential duties of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand or walk for 12 hours and is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is regularly required to communicate with other employees and be aware of sounds in the plant.
  • The employee must also frequently lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to shut down any machine if it poses an imminent danger to employee’s health and/or safety.
  • Ability to shut down any machine because of a quality problem so suspect material can be contained.
  • Ability to shut down any if it is down three times in one hour for the same mechanical problem.
  • Authority to contact any staff or management team member with concerns, questions or suggestions pertaining to their job or work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operates and maintains forklift in a safe and efficient manner using work instructions, inspection checklist, visual management and computer interface.
  • Reviews shipping schedule throughout the shift to ensure product is loaded and shipped accurately to meet customer’s requirements.
  • Works with warehouse management team to ensure personnel are assigned as needed to meet warehouse shift staffing requirements.
  • Ensures accurate inventory counts and notifies cycle counter of discrepancies.
  • Ensures forklift drivers are accurately and safely staging and loading product onto trucks.
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs general housekeeping duties.
  • Scheduling of dock times for customers.
  • Basic admin. Including filing of bill of ladens.
  • Sign for all incoming materials via FedEx and UPS.
