Requirements

  • Must be at least age 16.
  • Must have good communication skills and be able to read, write, take menu orders, and speak English well enough to communicate effectively with residents, family members and peers.
  • Desire to work with senior adults and their families.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and want to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to relate to other people by giving and receiving instructions: (a) can get along with co-workers or peers without exhibiting behavioral extremes; (b) perform work activities requiring negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading or speaking with others; and (c) respond appropriately to criticism from a supervisor.
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident information.
  • Be honest, dependable and reliable.
  • Be able to pass a Food Prep Safe Course provided by Eastmont Towers.
  • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, grasp and talk.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Serves food and beverages with a pleasant demeanor, restaurant style to residents in the dining room.
  • Accomplishes other duties to include, but not limited to: clean, bus tables, reset tables and complete required assigned daily cleaning tasks.
  • Complies with all federal and state health regulations and current food code requirements.
  • Ensures foods are maintained at proper temperatures.
  • May assist with training new staff and/or cross training current staff.
  • Communicates any problems or concerns with the Director.
  • Participates in personal and professional growth by attending mandatory in-services, scheduled department meetings and any other required training on or off campus.
  • Understands and adheres to all policies and procedures at Eastmont as set forth in departmental policies and the Employee Handbook.
  • Promote the Mission, Vision and Values of Transforming Age in all areas of responsibility, and demonstrate commitment to Culture of Excellence and strategic goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.
