Assume safe and timely transportation of residents on both a scheduled and as needed basis. Observe resident for any changes in condition and report to charge nurse. Represent facility in a professional and courteous manner at all times. Ensure all transported residents are returned to facility before ending shift. Follow the direction of Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing. Assure that the vehicle is fully fueled at the end of the day. Report any and all mechanical problems to the Director of Building & Grounds and Assistant Director of Nursing. Maintain required logs, records and reports. These are to be completed each day along with the pre-trip form. Responsible for pick-up and delivery of supplies, equipment and material needed outside of the facility as well as within. Performs other duties as may be assigned that are within the Nursing department’s mission and as situations warrant in meeting the overall needs of the facility. In down time report to the Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing. May be required to work weekends or take on call rotation on weekends. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
