Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is a world leader in the research, design, and manufacturing of focal plane arrays and flight-based vision systems. Our Focal Plane Operations Process Engineering department provides world class semiconductor and focal plane array manufacturing processes in support of production and development products across multiple domains. We have an opportunity for a talented Process Engineering Manager with a strong background in semiconductor processing or infrared semiconductor material processing. The ideal candidate should have experience leading teams and a strong background and understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, including but not limited to: photolithography processing, wet or dry etching, thin film deposition, or wafer processing. The candidate should be passionate about leading people to achieve the highest standards of innovation and quality to provide successful products for customers. A sense of urgency and customer service is essential. The candidate should have as well as proficiency in interfacing with multiple functions including Product Engineering, Systems Engineering, Quality, Mechanical Design Engineering, Factory Management, Equipment Engineering and Process Engineering

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience as Process or Manufacturing Engineer in an Optics, Semiconductor, Electro-Optics and/or Microelectronics environment.
  • Experience leading and/or managing the executing of processes or projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with infrared detector technology and materials.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience leading teams to achieve results in a technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom work environments and principles
  • Ability of solve technical problems while maintaining accountability to delivered product.
  • Thorough sense of ownership, drive, and dedication to continuous improvement by six sigma or lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a staff of Process Engineers is effective in supporting a multi-shift factory with multiple production programs and product development projects.
  • Lead efforts to ensure safety, increase capacity, improve yield, reduce cycle time, and decrease cost while reporting on project status and estimated completions.
  • Define opportunities and provide leadership for impactful process development.
  • Develop staff to effectively manage process improvement activities including compliance to internal and customer policies regarding safety, change control, training, contamination control, and quality assurance.
  • Lead in the use of Statistical Process control and Process Capability Analysis to drive the organization to predictable yields.
  • Define requirements for acquisition and qualification of new capital equipment.
  • Champion PFMEA and RCCA activities to proactively prevent process excursions.
  • Lead a team of process engineers of varying skillsets.
