About The Position

Wafer Manufacturing department has responsibility for enabling faster delivery of RD and Released products a high-volume Wafer manufacturing facility. This enables Seagate’s strategy of delivering ever larger capacity storage including next generation HAMR drives to our customers. Come be part of the team in one of the world’s most technologically advanced factories. About the role - you will:As a Wafer Manufacturing team member, you will identify and lead projects to drive improvements across the site. You will use your strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills to reduce manufacturing cycle time, enable efficiency improvements, improve utilization, reduce scrap and yield loss, and improve factory cleanliness.

Requirements

  • Strong data processing and visualization skills (MS Excel, JMP, etc.)
  • Creative problem solving
  • Working across department to solve complex problems
  • BS or higher with an engineering or science major
  • 5+ years of industry experience in an engineering role
  • Ability to communicate vertically and horizontally through numerous channels, utilize cross-functional network to complete goals
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with global teams
  • Ability to build relationships and influence cross functional teams
  • Self-starter who can build relationships and use judgement when working with partners to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Qualities of a team player
  • Ability to be flexible and work effectively with changing business needs

Responsibilities

  • Collecting and analyzing cycle time data
  • Identifying critical projects for the department
  • Building a cross-functional team for each project
  • Mapping business processes
  • Collecting Stakeholder input to design solutions
  • Observing and interviewing operators to understand barriers to success
  • Implementing solutions in a timely manner
  • Presenting findings and solutions to Management
  • Leading several projects in parallel
