About The Position

The Wafer Fabrication Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing wafer processing and photodetector device fabrication within a manufacturing environment. This role requires extensive experience in semiconductor fabrication and involves technical engagement in process and product development, ensuring optimal yield and device performance. The manager will also be responsible for training staff, evaluating existing processes, and implementing upgrades for increased production volume.

Requirements

• Engineering or Physics degree (B.S or greater) and extensive semiconductor fabrication experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in semiconductor wafer manufacturing supervisory/management.
• 8+ years semiconductor wafer manufacturing supervisory/management experience ideally in optoelectronic devices or other high tech manufacturing environment.
• Able to meet requirements to work with ITAR and US export restricted items.
• Lean or Six Sigma experience is beneficial.

Nice To Haves

• Photodetector and III-V material experience desired.

Responsibilities

• Oversee wafer processing and photodetector device fabrication.
• Expert knowledge in common wafer fabrication operations including Photolithography, optical coatings, wet chemical processing, metallization, RIE & PECVD thin film deposition.
• Technical engagement in process and product development, including mask design, process DOE, and establishing optimal process recipes to maximize yield and device performance.
• Problem solving ability with an organized and analytical approach.
• Evaluate and optimize existing processes and procedures.
• Ability to forecast and implement upgrades for increased volume and new product production.
• Understand and train staff in process requirements, cleanroom protocol, and specific product specifications.
• Ensure chemical safety.
