About The Position

The "Wages as Earned" Behavioral Health Research Associate provides entry-level research support across multiple behavioral health research initiatives led by LSU Health Affairs. This position supports applied research projects focused on behavioral health systems, public health policy, workforce development, Medicaid populations, and program evaluation. The role includes data collection and management, literature review, research coordination, stakeholder documentation, and preparation of research materials. This position is designed for early-career researchers seeking experience in applied behavioral health research in collaboration with state agencies and academic partners.

Requirements

  • Education Level: Bachelor's degree
  • Years of Experience: 0-2 years
  • Specific Experience: Academic research experience (coursework, internship, assistantship, or thesis work acceptable)
  • Basic experience with data organization and analysis
  • Strong written communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Research Support & Data Collection -Assist with qualitative and quantitative data collection activities -Support survey development and administration -Conduct structured literature reviews -Assist with data entry, cleaning, and organization -Maintain research documentation and data logs
  • Behavioral Health Project Coordination -Support coordination of multiple behavioral health research projects -Track project timelines and deliverables -Prepare meeting materials and summary notes -Assist with stakeholder communications
  • Data Analysis Support -Assist with preliminary data analysis (Excel, SPSS, R, or similar tools as appropriate) -Support development of tables, charts, and summary visuals -Assist with synthesis of findings for internal review
  • Report & Brief Development -Assist with drafting research summaries, policy briefs, and background documents -Support development of grant reports and deliverables -Assist with presentation development for academic and state audiences
  • Grant & Compliance Support -Support documentation required for grant reporting -Assist with IRB documentation preparation (if applicable) -Maintain organized research files
  • Administrative Research Support -Schedule meetings and coordinate research team communications -Assist with file organization and document management
