Your journey starts now-protect and innovate with MANTECH! MANTECH seeks a highly motivated and mission-driven Knowledge Manager Project Engineer to join our innovative team in El Segundo, CA. In this role, you will help drive systems engineering, project management, technical writing, and training efforts in support of the United States Space Force (USSF). You will play a critical role in advancing mission assurance, launch operations, and data analytics capabilities as part of the Assured Access to Space (AATS) initiative. This position supports the integration of emerging Launch Service Providers and continuous enhancement of launch services for the Space Systems Command (SSC). Responsibilities: In this role, you will contribute to diverse engineering and programmatic tasks supporting the SSC launch enterprise: Develop and enhance systems and data integration for the SSC Vulcan platform Create cohesive data infrastructures by integrating disparate customer IT environments Recommend and implement improvements for multi-system data integration and process efficiency Lead and manage the ULA Training Program aligned with data engineering and process improvement initiatives Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute continuous improvement efforts Analyze systems engineering artifacts, including requirements, design reviews, test plans, and CDRLs Interface with stakeholders including Aerospace Corporation, launch contractors, launch sites, and manufacturing facilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 8+ years' experience in program/project management, training, documentation, technical writing, IT, communications, or engineering
  • Working knowledge of space launch systems and processes
  • Demonstrated experience with one-on-one training and learning management systems
  • Ability to independently mine technical documentation to develop training content
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and IT collaboration tools such as SharePoint, Jira/Confluence, Foundry/WarpCore, Cognos, Tableau
  • Proficiency in preparing structured Weekly Activity Reports (WARs) with actionable insights
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain a US Government Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Occasional travel to Vandenberg Space Force Base (VSFB), Cape Canaveral Space Force Station (CCSFS), and other USG or Launch Service Provider (LSP) locations may be required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with launch vehicle programs (e.g., ULA) strongly desired
  • Familiarity with agile development tools such as Jira/Confluence
  • Experience using AI tools to optimize existing technical or operational processes
  • Familiarity with ULA engineering and documentation systems
  • Proven mentoring abilities across people, processes, systems, and organizational operations
