Requirements

Hold a high school diploma or GED
Completion of DCF 45 hours
1 year of experience in a children's classroom
Ability to pass a background check
Possess one of the following: a CDA or FCCPC with VPK training, or a degree in education or child development, with specific qualifications for teaching children from birth through 8 years of age
Have genuine empathy and understanding of children's needs and development
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Exhibit flexibility and adaptability to meet community needs and respond to changing circumstances
Capable of meeting the physical demands of working with children

Responsibilities

Manage classroom activities
Foster a nurturing and positive relationship with both children and their families
Implement a wide range of learning experiences covering physical health, social-emotional development, and academic skills, including logic, language, literacy, and more
Conduct detailed assessments to tailor instruction and support each child's unique journey, including those with disabilities
Design both outdoor and indoor settings to encourage active, engaged learning
Adhere to stringent health and safety guidelines
Maintain thorough documentation
Ensure open communication with parents
