About The Position

Position Summary & Responsibilities: ing to the General Manager and Head of Clinical Operations-North America, the Vice President of US Government Affairs will be responsible for developing and executing government affairs strategies across the United States, with the goal of strengthening access and utilization of diagnostics across the patient pathway. The incumbent will develop a strong relationship and da vision with thepany's senior business leaders, establishing an external affairs mission which helps to create and deliverpetitive strength to theanization. The Vice President, Government Affairs will lead the creation and execution of specific external affairs strategies and programs to ensure significantly increased reputation and understanding of thepany with respect to its strategic positioning in the industry. The role entails collaborating across the business enterprise and engaging externally with key opinion leaders, policy makers, regulatory agencies, industry associations, civil society, and advocacy groups, to inform and influence policy oues that align with bioMérieux's mission and business goals. Strategic Leadership: Support business leadership to advance bioMérieux's policy platform and Government Affairs strategy. Working with local leadership, develop and implementprehensive public affairs strategies for the United States, aligned with theanization's global objectives and regional priorities. Oversee the development and dissemination of positions to help advance thepany's objectives, including testimony,ments on regulations, and external affairs-related talking points and messages for use bypany leadership. Advance bioMérieux's leadership in industry associations to ensure aligned positions. Partner with leadership to coordinate and lead cross-functional teams to drive advocacy efforts, engage with stakeholders, and achieve favorable policy oues that support thepany's growth and market access. Stakeholder Engagement: Be the established point of contact and maintain working relationships with government officials members of business, trade and political associations, civil society, advocacyanizations, and other segments of society directly involved with the public policy process at the highest levels. Lead policy engagement,anizing responses to stakeholder consultations, building alliances and relationships across the United States. Analyze United States policy and regulatory developments and prepare reports, with rmendations, for bioMérieux. Represent thepany at industry events, conferences, and policy forums to promote thought leadership, contribute to policy discussions, and enhance thepany's reputation. Collaborate with internal experts to provide key information to external stakeholders. Manage/coordinate projects as a representative of bioMérieux in prioritizedanizations Federal Policy Advocacy: Foster a proactive, rather than reactive orientation in the external affairs arena In collaboration with global colleagues, monitor developments of interest and concern, keeping executive leadership informed of potential impacts on theanization's overall operations, products, and market access. Rmend and implement solutions to such issues. Develop position papers, white papers, and advocacy campaigns to inform policy debates and position thepany as an industry leader in key regions. Lead and support advocacy campaigns that address policy challenges, raise awareness about healthcare needs, and foster collaboration with local stakeholders. State Level Advocacy: Drive state public affairs strategy across U.S. priority states to advance policies supporting diagnostic innovation and patient access and provide timely insights on emerging state policy risks and opportunities affecting coverage and regulation. Engage with state legislators, health agencies, and coalitions on issues impacting diagnostics, including regulatory alignment with FDA, reimbursement frameworks tied to CMS, and state-level laboratory or public health policy. Compliance: Collaborate with the Compliance team to ensure that Government Affairs activities ad to applicable laws, regulations, and industry guidelines. Provide guidance/training to local teams on regulatorypliance, ethical standards, and risk management as they relate to government affairs efforts. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with business leaders, legal, regulatory, andmunications teams to ensure alignment of GA strategies with business objectives. Partner with the VP of Public Health Policy and Strategic Engagement to insights, support the development of proactive strategies aligned to United States priorities, and ensure advocacy aligns to global policy priorities. Provide insights to inform market entry, expansion, and product launch strategies based on regulatory and policy considerations. Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing US Government Affairs team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities. Foster a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement within the US Government Affairs team and with their counterpart at Global Public & Government Affairs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in law, political science, international relations, public affairs, or a related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in government affairs, public policy, trade association, or nonprofit within the healthcare or life sciences industry in the United States
  • 8+ years experience in people leadership with the ability to guide and inspire cross-functional teams toward d goals
  • Estimated 30-60% travel required. This position requires regular travel within the Washington DC area. Candidates based in the Washington DC area are preferred based on travel requirements and onsite responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing government affairs strategies that drive positive policy oues in diverse markets
  • Excellent interpersonal,munication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders from diverse cultures
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to navigateplex regulatory environments and diverse stakeholder landscapes
