Position Overview: The Vice President of Training & Development is responsible for leading enterprise change enablement across Mortgage Operations and the broader Bank. This role ensures that strategic initiatives—particularly the rollout of LOS, POS, and core mortgage technologies—are successfully adopted, operationalized, and sustained. The VP will translate business and technology changes into clear, executable workflows, training, and reinforcement strategies that drive consistent execution and measurable performance improvement. This is not a traditional training role. It is a change management and operational enablement function focused on ensuring that investments in systems, processes, and strategy translate into real adoption, behavior change, and business outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in workforce training, employee engagement, or a related role within the mortgage or financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage industry processes, terminology, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to lead initiatives that enhance employee experiences and drive organizational goals.
  • 10+ years of experience in training, change management, or operational enablement within financial services
  • 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Deep experience in mortgage operations and mortgage technology (LOS/POS required)
  • Proven experience leading large-scale system implementations and driving adoption
  • Strong understanding of mortgage processes, guidelines, and regulatory environment
  • Ability to translate complex systems and changes into practical execution
  • Experience with LMS platforms and modern learning tools

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Operations and Technology to support end-to-end implementation of new systems and workflows
  • Translate system and process changes into clear, role-based workflows, training, and job aids
  • Develop and execute structured change plans, including: Role-based readiness and training plans Communication and rollout strategies Adoption tracking and reinforcement plans
  • Ensure teams are prepared prior to go-live and supported post-launch
  • Drive sustained adoption by reinforcing expected behaviors and workflows
  • Identify adoption gaps and implement targeted solutions to improve utilization and performance
  • Own training and enablement strategy for LOS, POS, and supporting mortgage systems
  • Ensure system functionality is translated into practical, day-to-day execution across all roles
  • Align training with real workflows inside systems—not theoretical process
  • Ensure continuous reinforcement as systems evolve
  • Measure and drive adoption of systems, workflows, and processes
  • Partner with leadership to identify friction points and execution gaps
  • Use training and change strategies to reduce: Errors and rework Conditions and resubmissions Cycle time inefficiencies
  • Establish and track KPIs tied to adoption and performance
  • Build structured, role-based training aligned to system workflows and operational execution
  • Ensure training is practical, usable, and immediately applicable
  • Standardize delivery across teams and functions
  • Support both initial rollout training and ongoing reinforcement
  • Leverage modern tools (video, AI, embedded learning) to scale change adoption
  • Integrate training into workflows through just-in-time and system-based learning
  • Continuously improve delivery methods to increase retention and adoption
