SVP Customer Success The VP, Strategy & Customer Business Development will play a pivotal role in connecting these functions — ensuring DayOne’s development roadmap aligns with hyperscale demand while strengthening strategic relationships with key customers globally. The Role The VP, Strategy & Customer Business Development will lead strategic customer engagement with hyperscale and large-scale cloud customers while supporting DayOne’s broader market entry and development strategy. This role sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, development planning, and customer engagement, ensuring that DayOne’s site development and expansion strategy is informed by real market demand and strong hyperscale partnerships. The role will also support major deal development by coordinating across internal teams including development, engineering, finance, and leadership to drive successful project outcomes.

Requirements

  • Significant experience within digital infrastructure, hyperscale data centers, or cloud infrastructure ecosystems.
  • Strong relationships and experience working with hyperscale cloud providers.
  • Experience across data center development, leasing strategy, infrastructure expansion, or commercial strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge technical, development, and commercial teams.
  • Strong understanding of hyperscale data center lifecycle including development, site selection, design considerations, and leasing processes.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in fast-growing, global organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Customer Engagement Build and maintain senior relationships with hyperscale cloud providers and major digital infrastructure customers.
  • Serve as a strategic interface between DayOne and key customers across commercial, technical, and development discussions.
  • Support the advancement of major leasing opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Business Development Strategy Lead strategic business development initiatives focused on hyperscale demand generation and long-term customer engagement.
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities with hyperscale and large-scale digital infrastructure customers globally.
  • Support the development and execution of long-term commercial strategy aligned to DayOne’s growth ambitions.
  • Development & Market Strategy Alignment Work closely with development and investment teams to ensure DayOne’s expansion strategy aligns with hyperscale demand and market dynamics.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer insights to inform site selection, metro prioritization, and development planning.
  • Support evaluation of new markets and opportunities across the Americas, EMEA and APAC.
  • Major Deal Development Support the structuring and negotiation of large-scale hyperscale leasing opportunities.
  • Act as a bridge between customer technical teams and DayOne’s internal engineering, development, and construction teams.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of strategic deals.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership Collaborate with leadership across development, engineering, finance, and operations to align strategic priorities.
  • Help shape DayOne’s approach to customer engagement, commercial positioning, and long-term partnerships.
