Start your Voyage – Profile Summary The Vice President, Project Manager is a senior leadership role within Voya Investment Management’s Project Management Office (PMO), reporting directly to the Senior Vice President responsible for the PMO. This position is accountable for directing the successful delivery of complex, cross‑functional, and global programs that advance the strategic priorities of the organization. The ideal candidate will apply exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and deep project management expertise—supported by strong capabilities in AI‑driven tools, automation, and analytics—to enhance execution effectiveness and operational efficiency. The Vice President, Project Manager provides comprehensive governance and oversight across a diverse portfolio of business and technology initiatives, ensuring consistent, predictable, and high‑quality program outcomes. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining project standards, leading planning and coordination activities, managing reporting and risk processes, and ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders and executive leadership. This role serves as a key representative of the PMO when engaging with internal partners and external vendors, requiring advanced communication, negotiation, and relationship‑management skills. Operating with significant autonomy and visibility, the incumbent is expected to influence outcomes, drive accountability, and support the organization in achieving its strategic objectives while actively contributing to the continuous advancement of PMO practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in project/program management within investment management.
  • Experience delivering complex, enterprise‑level programs.
  • Strong financial management and analytical skills.
  • Expertise in MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Visio; PPM tools a plus.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools (e.g., Copilots, workflow automation, predictive analytics).
  • Experience using AI to improve planning, reporting, and risk identification.
  • Ability to integrate AI technologies into PMO workflows.
  • Exceptional communication skills and executive presence.
  • Strong decision‑making, critical thinking, and problem‑solving capability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large‑scale, complex, and cross‑functional programs with end-to-end accountability.
  • Define and maintain program/project governance, including roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and escalation paths.
  • Create and manage consolidated program schedules, milestones, dependencies, and critical paths.
  • Ensure on‑time, on‑budget, and high-quality delivery aligned to business strategy.
  • Apply AI‑enhanced tools for planning, reporting, risk detection, automation, and execution quality.
  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions with business and leadership teams to define scope, objectives, and alternatives.
  • Drive portfolio‑level prioritization, sequencing, and roadmap development.
  • Collaborate with finance and business leaders to manage program financials, investment cases, and monthly reporting.
  • Support development of enterprise‑level program and project roadmaps.
  • Produce executive‑ready reports, dashboards, and status updates for ELT and governance bodies.
  • Synthesize complex issues into clear narratives, decision frameworks, and recommended actions.
  • Communicate transparently with stakeholders on progress, risks, issues, and required decisions.
  • Represent the PMO with credibility in senior‑level forums and cross-organizational meetings.
  • Maintain and evolve PMO governance standards, methodologies, and enterprise project controls.
  • Implement strong mechanisms for ongoing project control, including risk, issue, and change management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and data‑governance requirements.
  • Use AI‑based monitoring tools to proactively identify risks, trends, and execution gaps.
  • Build strong partnerships across business, operations, technology, vendor, and offshore/onshore teams.
  • Influence outcomes without direct authority by creating alignment and guiding decision‑making.
  • Support teams in resource identification, planning, and coordination across shared resource models.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leaders across Investment Management.
  • Mentor, develop, and support project managers across the PMO.
  • Lead organizational change initiatives and operating‑model transformations.
  • Apply AI‑enabled change‑management techniques to improve stakeholder adoption and engagement.
  • Contribute to cultural evolution toward modern, data-driven execution practices.
  • Establish clear success criteria and ensure active management against expected outcomes.
  • Create structured approaches such as kickoff sessions, communication plans, and progress reporting frameworks.
  • Support special initiatives to enhance PMO maturity, efficiency, and capability.
  • Drive standardization and continuous improvement in program and project delivery practices.
