About The Position

Ensemble is a leading provider of technology-enabled revenue cycle management solutions for health systems, including hospitals and affiliated physician groups. They offer end-to-end revenue cycle solutions and a comprehensive suite of point solutions. Ensemble's core purpose is "O.N.E Purpose: Customer Obsession, Embracing New Ideas, Striving for Excellence." The role, referred to as a Director II, is responsible for day-to-day client operations and the planning, development, and implementation of policies, objectives, and initiatives for acute and/or physician revenue cycle activities. This includes managing outsourced vendors, clients, and in-house functional areas such as Patient Access (Patient Scheduling, Pre-Access/Registration, Registration Admissions, Financial Counseling), Health Information Management (Site Medical Records management, Release of Information, Transcription), and Patient Financial Services (Billing, Charge Master/Revenue Integrity, Insurance Follow-Up, Customer Service, Cash Posting, Denials Management, Payment Variance, Collections). The position involves reviewing and implementing systematic approaches to maximize revenue and cash flow, ensuring consistent results, forming and nurturing client relationships, and meeting client performance expectations through influence and direction of client and Ensemble operations. This role also requires communicating organizational values and positive leadership to all associates. The scope of responsibility includes managing less than $2 Billion Net Revenue or fewer than 10 facilities. The position is described as a HYBRID role in MN.

Responsibilities

  • Embody core purpose of customer obsession, new ideas, and driving innovation, and delivering excellence to ensure every touchpoint is meaningful.
  • Manage day-to-day client operations.
  • Plan, develop, and implement policies, objectives, and initiatives for acute and/or physician revenue cycle activities.
  • Oversee outsourced vendors, clients, and in-house functional areas of Patient Access, Health Information Management, and Patient Financial Services.
  • Review and implement systematic approaches to maximize revenue and cash flow and ensure consistent results.
  • Form and nurture relationships with clients and meet client performance expectations through influence and direction.
  • Communicate organizational values and positive leadership to all associates.
  • Define and establish strategic direction, priorities, accountabilities, and ongoing quality improvement for onsite Revenue Cycle operations.
  • Conduct client analyses and provide recommendations.
  • Create and maintain onsite operations strategic integration plans with defined objectives, outcomes, and timelines.
  • Oversee Client operations, including tracking and presentation of key performance indicators and service level agreements.
  • Provide director oversight to improve operational performance in client and centralized environments.
  • Identify and direct successful completion of projects.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to achieve client goals and manage SLA requirements.
  • Monitor daily unbilled and drive onsite performance for unbilled management and denials reduction.
  • Develop/adhere to specific objectives and performance standards (AR aging, denial management, self-pay, POS collections/patient experience).
  • Influence change related to key Revenue Cycle functions.
  • Articulate written plans with client deliverables, timelines, and formal tracking.
  • Monitor bad debt and identify process issues/improvements (registration, upfront collections, Medicaid eligibility).
  • Identify gaps in client support/performance and propose solutions.
  • Build relationships and organizational alignment, influence decisions, engage onsite operational teams, and drive results.
  • Participate in and lead program level meetings with stakeholders.
  • Work closely with CFO and other client leadership for analysis, reporting, and service line development.
  • Act as Client Revenue Cycle expert and ensure prompt communication of emerging changes (payer policies, contracting, regulatory updates, compliance).
  • Assist client leadership in understanding back-office metrics, tools, and reports.
  • Facilitate monthly client meetings to review performance, opportunities, initiatives, and support needs.
  • Provide weekly and monthly standard reports to client leadership.
  • Promptly escalate operational and/or client concerns to Ensemble leadership.
  • Participate in the organization’s continuing reassessment of its growth and operational efficiencies.
  • Communicate effectively while presenting complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Maintain standards of confidentiality.
  • Understand organization context and engage relevant stakeholders to remove barriers.
  • Perform other job related duties as required by supervisor.
