About The Position

The VP, Partner Operations will play a critical role in scaling and operationalizing NextGen’s partner ecosystem. This leader will own the downstream execution, performance, and operational health of strategic partners and API vendors, ensuring partnerships deliver on their intended strategic, financial, and client outcomes. This role serves as the central system of record and operational control point for partner relationships post-deal, bridging strategy and execution across Product, Engineering, Sales, Customer Support, Finance, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree (MBA or related) preferred. Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.
  • 10+ years of experience in partner operations, platform operations, business operations, or complex B2B ecosystem management
  • Proven track record of scaling and operating partner ecosystems or API-driven platforms
  • Experience operating in healthcare technology environments with an understanding of regulatory, privacy, and compliance considerations
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams through ambiguity and operational complexity
  • Knowledge of: Demonstrates deep understanding of NextGen’s products, partner business models, and economic constructs (gross vs. net revenue, rev share vs. PPPM, bundled pricing). Quickly identifies operational or structural friction that impedes scale.
  • Skill in: Operational design, performance management, analytics and reporting, partner lifecycle management, and cross-functional leadership.
  • Ability to: Translate strategy into scalable operating models; drive execution across multiple stakeholders; prioritize effectively in a complex, fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner Operations Strategy & Governance Own and evolve the operating model for Partner Operations, serving as the centralized system of record for partner inventory, classification, economics, and performance
  • Ensure operational readiness and scalability are built into partnerships at inception, in close coordination with Strategic Business Development Partner
  • Performance Oversight & Insights Lead development and ongoing management of partner financial and KPI dashboards, including revenue, gross profit, adoption, transaction volumes, SLAs, and partner-specific metrics
  • Establish clear milestones and measures of success for priority partnerships, including TAM/SAM, white-space opportunity, and client-level adoption
  • Provide regular, data-driven insights to executive leadership on partner health, risks, and opportunities
  • Coordinate with Finance, Product and Client Success to ensure integrity of partner financial performance accurate billing, invoicing and collections pertaining to partner solutions
  • Production Operations & Issue Resolution Oversee ongoing production monitoring for in-scope partners, including issue identification, escalation, and resolution
  • Lead cross-functional “war room” forums for high-priority partnerships to address operational, technical, or commercial challenges
  • Coordinate technical support, QA, and release readiness across internal teams and partners
  • Partner Lifecycle Management Partner with Business Development during initiation to ensure operational assessments, financial models, KPIs, SLAs, invoicing requirements, and support structures are defined pre-contract
  • Conduct periodic strategic health reviews for priority partners, assessing alignment, performance, competitive positioning, and improvement opportunities
  • Maintain an executive-level view of partner issues and opportunities, prioritized by strategic value and lifecycle stage
  • Cross-Functional Alignment Ensure role clarity and effective handoffs across Partner Operations, Product, Engineering, Implementation, Customer Support, and Finance
  • Export best practices from mature partner operations (e.g., EDI and payments) across the broader ecosystem
  • Collaborate with Finance on billing, invoicing, and reporting alignment while maintaining operational accountability
  • Perform other duties that support the overall objective of the position.
