Job Purpose The VP or Managing Director, Structured Finance, Private & Structured Credit is a member of the Private & Structured Credit team. The Managing Director, Structured Finance has a broad knowledge of the structured finance industry with established relationships with market participants and is able to manage an investment from origination to closing and be a mentor for junior team members. The VP or Managing Director, Structured Finance has deep structured credit experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of managing asset-backed securities (ABS) and generating deal flow. Asset classes include: consumer loans, credit cards, solar, timeshare, property assessed clean energy, equipment, single family rental, and esoteric asset classes.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel required.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and work within deadlines.
  • Bachelor's Degree , preferably in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field, required.
  • 8+ years of experience in the structured finance sector required.
  • Experience with an established organization, preferably an institutional asset management buy-side firm, required.
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Motivated and self driven with a desire to lead deals and develop new relationships.
  • Experienced with an established organization, preferably within an institutional asset management firm.
  • 10+ years of experience in the structured finance sector required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and evaluates investment proposals of private/144a and public asset-backed securities for purchase.
  • Responsible for all aspects of deal execution, including sourcing, cash flow analysis, sponsor/manager analysis, investment recommendation and committee presentation, documentation, and pricing rationale.
  • Performs on-site due diligence, meeting with issuer’s senior management team and reviewing operations.
  • Monitors asset-backed portfolio, including ongoing review of asset performance, credit enhancement, and credit analysis of servicers to determine appropriateness of existing holdings in light of current deal status and market conditions.
  • Formulates exit strategies and/or workouts as necessary.
  • Tracks industry and asset-specific issues and maintains relationships with servicers, investment banks, and rating agencies.
  • Mentors and works with junior members of the Structured Finance team.
  • Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for all aspects of deal execution including sourcing, cash flow analysis, sponsor/manager analysis, investment recommendation, committee presentation, documentation, closing, and pricing rationale/relative value.
  • Maintains fulsome relationships with brokers, bankers, equity sponsors, and other deal origination sources.
  • Partners with Risk, Compliance, Operations, and Technology teams to ensure robust investment processes.
  • Leads, mentors, and develops junior members of Structured Finance on the Private & Structured Credit team.
