The Difference You Make: The Sr. Associate, Strategic Initiatives, will join a high-performing team focused on execution of strategic projects. The Sr. Associate will play a key role managing a portfolio of high-priority strategic initiatives that will shape the future of Santander US. They will focus on the execution of the most critical projects for Santander US and oversee a team of PMOs to ensure proper implementation of all project management aspects (risk assessment, governance, artifacts, etc.). The Sr. Associate will liaise with stakeholders across multiple functions (business, risk, finance, technology) to ensure proper delivery of strategic initiatives. This is an ideal position for a candidate who wants to apply previous management consulting or corporate banking experience into an execution-focused and fast-paced role. This is a high-visibility role with exposure to senior management. The successful candidate will demonstrate a mastery of the following qualities: Autonomy: taking ownership and accountability with little guidance Multi-tasking: ability to handle multiple projects at a time under time constraint Critical thinking: capability to creatively find simple solutions to complex problems Executive presence and interpersonal skills: ability to effectively communicate (orally and in writing) in a clear and succinct fashion to address a senior leadership audience Comfort producing financial models and interpreting financial statements Team player attitude Ability to influence others, even within a difference hierarchical organization Proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, etc.), high attention to detail, and skilled at producing visuals on decks and memos

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent field. - Required.
  • 9+ Years Relevant business planning, project and financial experience. - Required.
  • 9+ Years Experience working with complaint standards to include monitoring and evaluating. - Required.
  • 9+ Years Experience working with Analytics and providing process recommendations. - Required.
  • Advanced knowledge in a wide variety of systems coordination, process/product review initiatives and the development of management information requirements for related business functions.
  • Ability to consult, build, and maintain solid working relationships in and outside of immediate department.
  • Ability to determine and report priorities/metrics to senior management.
  • Ability to manage multiple small to medium sized projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to research, analyze, document, and present organizational metrics that drive business decisions.
  • Ability to work and influence successfully within a matrix environment and build effective business partnerships with all levels of team members.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of banking industry: products, services, operational policies, and procedures.
  • Knowledge and understanding of risk management.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills.

  • Established work history or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military service, or education.
