About the Role The VP of Product, Membership Experience, is a senior product leader responsible for shaping and scaling Crunchyroll’s flywheel product offering – including Games, Interactive, eCommerce, and Theatrical – and maximizing their contribution to overall membership value through their respective product portfolios. This role functions as a senior leader overseeing a team of product specialists across a number of flywheel products, ensuring each offering has a strong standalone product experience while supporting the flywheel line of business owners on how these offerings increase engagement, retention, and long term value of the Crunchyroll membership. This role will partner closely with the VP of Streaming Experience to integrate flywheel products into the broader SVOD membership journey, and with the SVP of Platform & Monetization to ensure scalable, reliable product foundations.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of product leadership experience owning consumer-facing, membership-driven products that drive engagement, retention, and revenue growth.
  • Proven track record leading product strategy, roadmap definition, and execution across multiple product portfolios with measurable impact on membership growth and long-term value
  • Experience building and scaling membership-driven or subscription-based products, ideally within media, entertainment, gaming, or other fan-driven ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with business owners and cross-functional teams to drive data-informed product decisions, prioritize initiatives for business outcomes, and communicate results effectively to stakeholders.
  • Passion for anime, fandom culture, or other fan-driven entertainment ecosystems, with a strong understanding of how fans engage beyond streaming.

  • Ensure each business has a high-quality, scalable product foundation (e.g., APIs, developer tools, storefronts, content surfaces).
  • Membership Value & Flywheel Strategy
  • Define how each flywheel product contributes to: Membership value Subscriber growth Engagement Retention
  • Lead strategy for how flywheel products connect back into the SVOD experience in partnership with the VP of Streaming Experience.
  • Business Alignment & Accountability
  • Serve as the primary product partner to flywheel business owners.
  • Make product decisions with clear awareness of P&L impact and business outcomes.
  • Use data to quantify and communicate the value of flywheel product changes.
