About The Position
Pangaea is seeking a VP of Operations (Contractor) to partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to drive and execute operational excellence across the business. This is a highly hands-on, execution-focused role. While the title is VP, this position is best suited for a strong operator who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and directly owning key areas of the business including supply chain, inventory planning, logistics, and S&OP.
Requirements
- 8 - 12+ years of experience in operations within CPG, DTC, or similar industries
- Currently operating at a Director or Senior Director level (or equivalent) and ready to step into a VP-level scope
- Highly hands-on with a track record of executing, not just leading strategy
- Strong experience with supply chain, inventory planning, and multi-channel distribution (DTC, Amazon, retail)
- Experience running or supporting S&OP processes
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, lean environments with high ownership
- Strong financial and analytical mindset with ability to impact margins and cost structure
- Excellent cross-functional collaborator and communicator
Nice To Haves
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, etc.) preferred
Responsibilities
- Own and execute operational strategy across global supply chain, logistics, and distribution
- Lead day-to-day operations across inventory planning, demand forecasting, and fulfillment
- Drive and improve the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process
- Manage relationships with 3PLs, freight partners, manufacturers, and international distributors
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Marketing, and Product to support launches and growth initiatives
- Identify and implement improvements to COGS, margins, and operational efficiency
- Monitor KPIs and translate data into actionable insights and execution plans
- Ensure strong inventory health and working capital optimization across all channels
- Bring structure, discipline, and accountability to operational processes and reporting
- Support and mentor team members while helping evolve the operational org structure over time
