Bringing Home the Dough Flowers Foods & Subsidiaries is looking to add a talented VP of Market Sales to our quickly growing sales team! Title: VP of Market Sales Salary Range : $110,000 – $145,000/year Position Summary: The VP of Market Sales will be responsible for executing local market-specific sales strategies based on guidance from VP of Regional Sales and working with the Retail sales team and the Business Unit to drive profitable sales. Market Sales VPs will own and manage all local market specific DSD sales activities and maintain close contact with Route Sales Directors. Additionally, the Market Sales VP will constantly look for ways to grow business through interaction with key customer accounts. This person will be responsible for coaching and training RSDs on developing relationships with customers and company Route Sales Representatives. They will also maintain consistent communication with their respective Regional Sales VP to provide perspective on local market-specific successes and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in general management or sales
  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Business Administration preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Past experience as Area Sales Director preferred

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for executing sales strategies based on guidance from VP of Regional Sales and VP of Division Sales
  • Work cross-functionally with the bakeries on report product quality opportunities, late delivery dispatch, and other issues that directly impact the sale department
  • Partner with RSDs to execute local sales plans and pursue profitable new business to achieve period and annual goals
  • Maintain close contact with VP of Regional Sales and provide updates on performance results and competitor activity to ensure talent and sales plans are aligned to business needs and market demands
  • Ensure RSDs work daily with our fundamentals (displays, customer relations, time schedule and callbacks, space and position and distribution)
  • Assist RSDs in selling and provide industry standards and best practices advice to successful execution against plan
  • Responsible for usage of digital products and the Go Spot Check (GSC) tool for daily and focused missions determined by the digital sales team. Use the tool and reporting to monitor units and dollar sales, profit margin, and stale to drive business
  • Provide RSDs with proper guidance, direction, and assistance to achieve profit goals and compliance with all applicable policies and procedures (e.g., customer service requirements, equipment, vehicle, warehouse and other sales-related areas, recruitment, retention, orientation, training, discipline, safety, record keeping, EEO, and other HR-related areas)
  • Conduct weekly meetings with RSDs to discuss performance against perfect store execution
  • Coach and mentor RSDs in the understanding and use of available information, including the professional presentation of information/knowledge to our customers and employees to blend Flowers goals with customer/employee goals
  • Interact with and visit key customer accounts as assigned to build rapport and increase selling opportunities
  • Maintain close contact with other Market Sales VPs and Retail Team to stay informed on cross-regional activity and to share key success that could contribute to achieving overall sales growth goals
  • Partners with the Human Resources Department to develop a succession plan, employee development, employee engagement and retention.
