About The Position

Merelo Enterprise is a leading utility construction and infrastructure services company committed to safety, integrity, and sustainable practices. We are seeking an experienced Vice President of Enterprise Health & Safety (EHS) to lead our organization-wide safety strategy, compliance, and risk management programs. This role will ensure a world-class safety culture across all operations.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
15+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in construction, utilities, or related industries.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent credentials preferred.
Proven ability to lead complex investigations and manage regulatory compliance.
Strong communication and leadership skills with experience influencing at all organizational levels.

Nice To Haves

BS in Health & Safety Management, Risk Management, or related field; professional certifications (CSP, CIH, REM, CESCO) preferred

Responsibilities

Develop and execute the enterprise EHS strategic plan, including goals, objectives, and initiatives.
Align safety programs with corporate strategy and operational priorities.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, DOT, environmental standards).
Lead risk assessments and implement proactive measures to reduce exposure.
Oversee rapid response investigations for incidents and catastrophes.
Collaborate with legal, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders on reporting and corrective actions.
Develop and track KPIs and scorecards to measure safety performance.
Prepare and present regular safety reports and dashboards to executive leadership.
Champion a safety-first culture across all levels of the organization.
Drive best practices and continuous improvement through training and engagement programs.
