While not a lobbying role, this position is vital to the organization’s advocacy strategy and public affairs success.

Requirements

  • 1–2+ years experience in government affairs, legislative scheduling, public administration, or a related role
  • Understanding of legislative structures and how to navigate elected officials’ offices
  • Clear, confident communicator—both in writing and over the phone
  • Persistent and proactive—able to chase down hard-to-reach contacts while remaining respectful
  • Impeccable organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Highly polished, poised, and discreet—able to represent the organization professionally at all times

Responsibilities

  • Manage and schedule meetings between senior leadership and elected officials across city, state, and federal levels
  • Proactively track down key contacts, cold outreach when needed, and build respectful relationships with legislative offices
  • Keep up-to-date contact lists, communication logs, and scheduling trackers
  • Prepare meeting materials, agendas, and follow-up documentation
  • Maintain a polished, professional tone in all communication (written and verbal)
  • Act as a central liaison between leadership and the external policy world
