About The Position

The Vice President of Business Development has primary responsibility for expanding SFE’s business by selling the SFE service, brand, and vision to K-12 school districts across the Unites States.  This individual will manage a growing sales team, will report to the CGO of SFE, and work closely with the entire executive team, especially the President.  This leader will have the ability to set the strategy for business development for a dynamic, fast paced, and quickly growing business.  VP of Business Development will have a strong background in strategic sales and sales management.  While not mandatory, experience in selling to K-12 school districts or institutional foodservice is preferred.  Training and developing a sales team to perform at their highest levels, and eagerness to offer solutions to help individuals and teams work more efficiently and effectively is a must.  Also needed is a unique ability to build and maintain long lasting relationships and develop networks, along with highly developed account management skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 10 years of professional work experience in B2B sales, sales of professional services and client relationship management.
  • Proven selling ability and successful record as sales manager of leading and sales team
  • Strong ability with Salesforce or equivalent CRM
  • Effective leadership of sales process/methodology: identify buying criteria and key prospects;  and developing solutions. Blue Sheet experience preferred
  • Analytical ability to develop financial projections, managing P&L’s and budgets.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in multiple territories.
  • Exceptional relationship management skills and the ability to build and grow connections with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Interest in working with a mid-size and rapidly growing company, with awareness about the opportunities and challenges that come with a highly adaptive environment.
  • Extensive travel required (75%).

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach and lead a team of 10 sales people.
  • Devise annual company sales plan and strategy for SFE growth. Gain approval of plan and strategy within annual budget and with executive team.
  • Guide sales team to cultivate and win new business, including building district relationships, preparing bid proposals and presenting SFE to district review committees.
  • Define and oversee sales staff compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets.
  • Help to drive the SFE brand by partnering with the Director of Marketing to develop relevant, marketing plans and initiatives to attract and retain clients.
  • Collaborate with members of SFE’s team to ensure an excellent client experience across all client interactions from needs assessment, to foodservice transition, and through delivery and follow up
