About The Position

Lead the commercial charge for BioSim, where we unify AI and biological reasoning to move drug discovery in silico. At SandboxAQ, you aren't just selling a platform; you are architecting the future of human health. Key Responsibilities This is a high-impact, hands-on role that also requires strategic leadership where you will personally drive our most ambitious deal cycles while leading a small, dedicated commercial team. As the primary architect you will have the agency to design and execute a comprehensive commercial strategy, navigating the complexities of the global biopharma ecosystem to land multi-year collaborations and directly steer the growth trajectory of the entire BioSim business unit. Key Responsibilities include:

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in biopharma or biotech business development or strategic transactions, demonstrating the ability to navigate high-stakes, multi-stakeholder negotiation environments. Experience selling Saas and consulting services a plus
  • Demonstrated success managing sales of specialty products across multiple market segments. Have built an organization inclusive of existing accounts and net new deals.
  • Proven track record overseeing the full customer experience, including field sales, technical service, application support, and customer care. Experience in pricing value-based engagements inclusive of joint development, consulting and product.
  • An extensive, pre-existing professional network of senior-level contacts (Chief Technology Officers, Heads of Innovation, Heads of R&D) across the global biopharma industry, with a proven ability to initiate strategic conversations from scratch.
  • A documented track record of personally leading and closing complex biopharma technology deals with $20M+ upfront and milestones exceeding $100M.
  • Expert-level proficiency in deal qualification and pipeline management, leveraging data-driven insights to align commercial activities with overall enterprise strategy.
  • Demonstrated leadership in an entrepreneurial or high-growth environment, with the ability to lead a team through ambiguity and make decisive strategic choices.

  • Significant industry influence, with previous deal successes featured in major publications like FiercePharma or FierceBiotech.
  • Scientific fluency that allows for seamless communication with both research scientists and C-suite business leaders to bridge technical capabilities with commercial value.
  • Experience leading commercial transformation or building high-performance commercial functions from the ground up.
  • Advanced proficiency in leveraging CRM systems (Salesforce) to optimize customer management and revenue tracking.
  • A history of managing large-scale, global accounts and navigating diverse value-chain partners in the tech-bio sector.
  • Understanding of and fluency with the modern drug discovery landscape inclusive of data models and AI-based tools

Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate Complex Partnerships: Lead the end-to-end negotiation of first-of-their-kind commercial collaborations with global biopharma leaders, focusing on deals with significant upfront value and long-term milestones.
  • Drive Strategic Growth: Formulate and implement a global commercial strategy for the BioSim group, identifying new market opportunities and ensuring our pricing models reflect the transformative value of our technology.
  • Lead and Mentor as a Player-Coach: Manage a specialized commercial team, providing hands-on guidance on deal structuring while personally maintaining accountability for high-stakes strategic accounts.
  • Cultivate Executive Relationships: Act as the primary commercial point of contact for Heads of R&D and Innovation, building deep trust through a sophisticated understanding of their scientific and business needs.
  • Establish Commercial Rigor: Implement robust sales processes and qualification frameworks to ensure a transparent, predictable, and data-driven deal pipeline that aligns with company-wide growth targets.
