The Vice President of Ancillary Services reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and works closely with senior leadership, providers, and staff to continuously improve operations, quality, patient experience and caregiver engagement. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare related field of business
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare leadership role
  • Master’s Degree in healthcare related field or business from an accredited post-graduate college of university or graduate within one (1) year of hire
  • Demonstrate effective, managerial and communication competence
  • Knowledge of regulatory agency’s standards and conditions
  • Effective analytical skills including data gathering, analysis and reporting
  • Self-motivated and accountable
  • Team-oriented
  • Hold a professional license in field of radiology, therapy, laboratory, pharmacy or nursing.

Nice To Haves

  • Ten (10) years’ experience in healthcare leadership role
  • Experience with community board positions or community advocacy work

Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative direction, evaluation, and coordination of the functions and activities for the operation of assigned clinical and non-clinical departments.
  • Collaborates routinely with the COO concerning policy recommendations and suggested courses of action pertinent to the efficient operation of assigned departments.
  • Manages the implementation for major strategic, clinical and/or operational initiatives.
  • Mentors and develops leaders, fostering achievement of goals and objectives, high performing leadership practices, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Guides department leaders in establishing measures of performance, increased productivity, quality improvement, and cost management.
  • Initiates, coordinates, and enforces policies and procedures.
  • Leads and manages change through influence to achieve performance.
  • Strategizes and drives process improvements. These may focus on innovative care delivery and operational models designed to improve clinical services, outcomes, patient throughput, and patient safety.
  • Promotes the use and implementation of technology to streamline operations, facilitate communications, and optimize work processes.
  • Communicates expectations, develops leaders, and advances the organization to meet needs and strategic priorities that are current and/or anticipated.
  • Promotes relationships with community organizations to improve patient outcomes and the health of the communities served.
  • Collaborates with directors in hiring, orientation, evaluation, discipline, and education of staff.
  • Rounds on patients, families, employees, and physicians to enrich communication, ensure alignment, oversee operations, and ensure that the experience is positive.
  • Develop and evaluate goals, objectives, and strategies in response to organizational initiatives with input from direct reports.
  • Establish expectations/performance standards for direct reports.
  • Promote and assist direct reports with mentoring.
  • Ensure that standards are developed, monitored, maintained, and updated for continuous performance improvement.
  • Review, evaluate and take corrective action regarding qualitative and quantitative work performance in response to organizational expectations.
  • Develop, monitor, and operate within all divisional operational and capital budgets.
  • Identify, monitor, and manage cost control and productivity improvement.
  • Each employee is responsible for implementing SJRMC’s Service Standards into their daily work: Safety, Courtesy, Effectiveness, and Stewardship
  • Shares administrative (24-hour) on-call for hospital and associated clinical/offices with other members of the team.
