Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field and eight years’ experience (four of which must be at the supervisory level) in in credit and collections, collateral remarketing/sales or auction experience are required. Applicable work experience and/or military experience may be substituted for education at the rate of two years of experience for one year of education. Applicable additional education levels or relevant but not required certifications may be eligible to satisfy minimum experience requirements.
  • Auto sales license.
  • Incumbent Bonding REQUIRED by TFCU’s chosen authority.
  • Valid driver’s license, maintaining an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of courtroom procedures and legislation impacting collection activities.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), Uniform Consumer Credit Code (UCCC), and the Bankruptcy Revision Act of 1994; as well as regulatory requirements under Reg. CC, Reg. B, and Reg. Z.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), and Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP); along with private mortgage insurance guidelines, Fannie Mae and Veterans Administration (VA) requirements, and the MORNET system.
  • Understands collateral protection insurance policies and associated reporting requirements.
  • Demonstrates ability to operate and maintain standard office equipment effectively.
  • Possesses knowledge of Call Center Technology (inbound/outbound) and Auto Dialer systems

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing collection policies, liquidation procedures, and productivity levels for the Collections Department.
  • Continually update parameters for collection efforts to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintaining compliance with applicable acts, laws, and guidelines while providing innovative solutions to recover losses on secured and unsecured loans that have defaulted.
  • Leading and developing the Collections team by setting clear performance goals, fostering accountability, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
