About The Position

The Vice President, Automation NAM is the strategic and operational leader of the Automation business unit with full accountability for vision, roadmap, and P&L. This role will focus on integrating Automation technology with the Parcel Logistics business unit to maximize shared value in platforms, delivery, service, and go-to-market. The VP ensures seamless integration of automation technologies to enhance throughput, reduce costs, and improve service levels, leading cross-functional teams in engineering, operations, sales, and customer success to deliver scalable, innovative solutions aligned with Körber's growth and digital transformation goals.

Requirements

  • Strategic leader with ability to anticipate industry trends and define long-term automation strategies.
  • Experienced in executive-level P&L management, including budgeting, forecasting, and ROI alignment.
  • Proven transformation and change leadership in large-scale digital adoption and innovation.
  • Ability to establish cross-functional collaboration and talent development across engineering, operations, IT, HR, and finance.
  • Deep understanding of parcel logistics and automation technologies (e.g., robotics, AMRs, Layer Picker).
  • Operational excellence in scaling backend operations and service organizations for complex projects.
  • Strong analytical decision-making skills to convert data insights into actionable improvements.
  • Vendor negotiation and partnership management.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards and ability to drive market development through agile strategies.
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 70% (domestic and international).

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the automation roadmap for Parcel Logistics, aligning with corporate objectives and market trends.
  • Champion innovation and digital transformation across warehousing, fulfillment, and last-mile delivery.
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities that enhance operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth.
  • Oversee deployment of automation systems (e.g., robotics, conveyor technologies, WCS/WMS) and ensure compliance with safety and sustainability standards.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to optimize performance and reduce waste.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ROI analyses, and business cases for automation projects and investments.
  • Be instrumental in building and leading high-performing teams and service infrastructure to deliver large-scale automation projects and lifecycle support.
  • Cultivate strategic partnerships, including AMR collaborations, and explore new verticals and customer segments for growth.
  • Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and monitor KPIs to measure automation impact on productivity, cost, and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and executive leadership to align automation initiatives with long-term business goals and market trends.
