About The Position

The VP of Journey Marketing drives business outcomes by achieving success with customers at any stage in their journey of experiencing Life360…from the first time they arrive at our website or app store listing through marketing they may receive many years into their usage of our services. Key teams and functions you will guide include web/eCommerce, journey enablement (including tech teams), and lifecycle and member marketing. You will partner deeply with other marketing leaders across creative and social, product marketing, integrated marketing, comms and international marketing. Outside of marketing, you will also partner with critical functional teams (e.g. data science and analytics, design, finance, etc.) and product/eng teams (e.g. subscription growth, devices, etc.) to achieve shared objectives. Your performance is directly connected to the company’s key goals (brand, free user growth, financial) and this will be an exciting, high visibility role within the organization.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of successful experience in marketing with at least 5+ years of journey oriented marketing experience.
  • Proven track record of building multiple modern lifecycle marketing programs that are highly programmatized and personalized.
  • Subscription, hardware and app experience strongly preferred. Freemium model experience is highly beneficial.
  • DTC ecommerce marketing experience strongly preferred.
  • Deep understanding of marketing insights & analytics methodologies and tools, from attribution to A/B and multivariate testing and beyond.
  • Exceptional x-functional collaborator including experience collaborating with C-level partners.
  • Stellar communicator. Can distill complex stories down and communicate persuasively in both written and verbal modalities.
  • While data-informed, must also embrace the grayscale nature of marketing and complement empiricism with judgment and intuition.
  • An exceptional leader of people and someone who truly buys into our values.

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand the connection of various journey marketing channels/levers to our key business metrics. Enact strategies and tactics to generate greater returns from our investments in them.
  • Ensure cohesion and orchestration across our owned channels and surfaces.
  • Own our eCommerce engine. Lead a multi-faceted DTC marketing and merchandising team to optimize our eCommerce revenues and other core metrics.
  • Partner with brand and creative leadership to ensure strong connectivity of our messaging across paid and owned surfaces.
  • Serve as the thought leader and owner for our Journey Marketing technology stack, including “built” and bought technology in service of the vision.
  • Own the framework for and governance around our 1st-party promotional guardrails (ensuring relevance and avoiding hyper-frequency).
  • Partner with business group leaders to ensure Journey Marketing activities reflect their broader vision and priorities.
  • Maximize the sell-in of our devices (e.g. Tiles and Pet GPS) to our 95M+ app users leveraging lifecycle channels, native product surfaces and our owned advertising footprint (we are an ad publisher).
  • Set a compelling vision for our next chapter of lifecycle marketing, rooted in programmatic, personalized and AI-driven approaches.
  • Partner with Finance and Analytics leadership to create a best-in-class framework for performance reporting and the surfacing of actionable insight. Create and lead forums for sharing these insights with leadership and other vested constituents.
