The Vice President of Marketing is a front-and-center leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, with regular communication to board members. This position is responsible for shaping the Starbird brand experience and accelerating our expansion in the fast-casual space. The Opportunity The Vice President of Marketing is a key member of Starbird’s executive leadership team and a strategic partner to the CEO and cross-functional leaders. This role owns the end-to-end marketing strategy across corporate restaurants and the expanding franchise system — driving brand awareness, guest acquisition, digital engagement, loyalty, and revenue growth. This leader will bring deep experience scaling restaurant or food & beverage brands, building high-performance teams, and creating repeatable, franchise-ready marketing systems. Requirements

  • BS, MBA preferred
  • 15+ years of proven executive-level marketing leadership in restaurant, food & beverage, or multi-unit consumer brands
  • Experience scaling brands in fast-growth environments, including franchise systems
  • Strong background in brand strategy, performance marketing, loyalty, and digital platforms
  • Proven track record operating both strategically, setting vision, and tactically executing an operational road map
  • Data-driven decision maker with a strong creative sensibility
  • Exceptional people leader who builds high-performing teams and culture
  • Strategic notice paired with hands-on operational execution

Responsibilities

  • Lead Starbird’s brand vision, positioning, and storytelling to support national expansion
  • Build long-term brand equity while driving near-term performance growth
  • Develop and execute the annual marketing strategy, goals, and operating plan
  • Present marketing strategy, performance, budgets, and growth initiatives to the Board
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing marketing and sales team
  • Establish strong operating rhythms, decision-making processes, and cross-functional alignment
  • Own guest acquisition, retention, loyalty, and digital engagement strategies
  • Drive performance marketing across digital and in-restaurant channels to increase traffic, frequency, and average check
  • Lead promotional strategy, creative development, and execution aligned with brand and culinary vision
  • Oversee catering marketing strategy to drive incremental revenue and brand elevation
  • Optimize ROI across promotions and campaigns
  • Own Starbird’s brand voice and messaging across internal and external communications
  • Lead PR strategy and agency partnerships aligned with growth and brand priorities
  • Ensure integrated communications across brand campaigns, menu launches, and market expansions
  • Own brand standards, visual identity, and style guides
  • Ensure creative consistency across all touchpoints — digital, in-store, menu, third-party platforms, and franchise materials
  • Manage creative agencies, RFPs, and vendor partnerships
  • Lead brand refinements and evolutions to support growth while preserving Starbird’s culture and roots
  • Provide strategic oversight of loyalty and digital platform migrations and performance
  • Ensure seamless guest communication, campaign execution, and data integrity during system transitions
  • Build a franchise-ready marketing infrastructure and playbook
  • Partner with franchise leadership to support new market launches and local marketing execution
  • Develop tools, training, and systems that enable franchisees to drive results while maintaining brand standards
