About The Position

The Vice President of Infrastructure & Cybersecurity will serve as a strategic executive leader responsible for the vision, architecture, and governance of the company’s global technology infrastructure and security posture. Reporting directly to the CIO/CTO, this leader will drive digital transformation initiatives and AI-led modernization, ensuring enterprise-grade reliability and scalability for our growing fleet. You will oversee the global technical operations strategy, championing innovation while managing risk, compliance, and operational excellence across shoreside and shipboard environments. This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.

Requirements

  • PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent executive experience.
  • 25+ years of progressive experience in Technology, with at least 10+ years in executive leadership roles (VP or Director level) within complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Proven track record of managing > $10 million annual operating budgets and influencing C-level strategic decisions.
  • Extensive experience architecting and governing enterprise-scale cloud environments (GCP, AWS) and hybrid infrastructure.
  • 8+ years of senior leadership in cyber security operations and GRC.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Governance
  • Strategic Planning: Define and govern the long-term infrastructure architecture, lifecycle management, and disaster recovery strategies to support business scalability and continuity.
  • AI-Driven Transformation (AIOps): Champion the integration of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI/ML) across all infrastructure, security, and service delivery functions. Drive the shift from reactive to predictive operations through automated root cause analysis, intelligent capacity planning, and self-healing systems.
  • Enterprise Resilience & Business Continuity (BCP/DR): Define and govern the corporate Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy. Lead the technology function within BCP steering committee to ensure the fleet and corporate offices can maintain critical operations during cyber events or physical disasters.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Audit: Serve as the primary technical liaison for external auditors and regulatory bodies. Ensure fleet-wide compliance with IMO (International Maritime Organization) cyber mandates, PCI-DSS (payments), SOX, and GDPR.
  • Cybersecurity & Risk Management
  • Cybersecurity Leadership: Establish and oversee corporate governance for information security, risk management, and compliance (GRC). Direct the strategic operation of the Cyber Security Operations Center (CSOC) and vulnerability management programs.
  • OT/IT Convergence Security: Oversee the security and connectivity architecture for Operational Technology (OT) and IoT systems on board, bridging the gap between marine engineering and traditional IT to secure critical vessel control systems.
  • SecOps & Threat Management: Lead Security Operations (SecOps) to fuse threat intelligence with infrastructure defense, ensuring AI-enhanced proactive threat hunting and rapid incident response.
  • Infrastructure & Operations
  • Cloud & Infrastructure Strategy: Direct the architectural strategy and operational governance of multi-cloud environments (Google Cloud, AWS) and global data centers to ensure 24x7 availability and performance.
  • Strategic Maritime Connectivity: Own the strategic roadmap for ship-to-shore communications, managing multi-million dollar relationships with satellite providers (LEO/MEO/GEO, Starlink) to ensure seamless guest experience and vessel operations.
  • DevSecOps & Automation: Champion the adoption of DevOps methodologies and automation. Drive the cultural and technical transformation towards a DevSecOps model, integrating security and automation into the software delivery lifecycle to accelerate speed-to-market.
  • Service Delivery & Quality
  • Enterprise Quality & Release Governance (QA/UAT): Establish and oversee the Quality Assurance strategy. Define rigorous standards for AI-assisted automated testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and release management to ensure high-velocity, high-quality software delivery.
  • Digital Employee Experience (DEX): Transform the "Help Desk" function into a value-driven "Digital Workplace" strategy, utilizing Generative AI agents , analytics, and automation to maximize workforce productivity and satisfaction across the globe.
  • IT Service Delivery: Provide executive oversight for Global IT Service Delivery, defining standards for user experience, incident management, and service quality (ITIL framework) across the fleet and corporate offices.
  • Financial & Vendor Management
  • FinOps & Asset Governance: Establish a Cloud FinOps practice to optimize spend across AWS/GCP. Govern the lifecycle and depreciation of multi-million dollar global hardware assets (HAM) and software licensing (SAM) to ensure regulatory and financial compliance.
  • Strategic Vendor Management: Direct strategic sourcing and vendor negotiations, managing enterprise-scale contracts to optimize cost structures and service level agreements (SLAs).

  • Talent Leadership: Mentor and develop a high-performing team of Directors and Managers, fostering a culture of agility, security-first thinking, and operational excellence.
