The VP, Human Resources will be responsible for driving the strategic HR planning and execution aligned to global and regional business and HR priorities (with emphasis on talent management, leadership coaching, organizational design, I&B, employee engagement and creating a world-class associate experience). Reporting to the SVP of Global Human Resources, the VP HR (R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, IT, Legal) will be accountable for end-to-end HR leadership globally and serve as the primary strategic business partner to 4 L1 leaders. The VP, Human Resources will join the R&D leadership team and serve as a member of the global Human Resources Leadership Team (HRLT). The VP, HR will have a team of Director and HR Business Partners reporting into the role, and will also act as a coach and mentor across the organization for HRBPs. The VP, Human Resources must collaborate with the Centers of Excellence in alignment with global HR leadership to ensure proper alignment of talent, compensation and operational effectiveness. As such, the leader will interface effectively with relevant global business and HR leaders to maximize both global, regional, and local opportunities and create a high-performance working culture to enable the business to achieve its ambitious performance and people objectives. As part of the HRLT, the leader will also influence and shape the global strategic direction of the HR function which may include further evolution to the strategy, organization structure, and ways of working. This role will be based in Sunnyvale, CA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 20+ years of experience OR Master's with 18+ years of experience and 6 years people leadership experience
  • Strong track record leading in an international and matrixed HR team
  • Strong data-driven approach to analysis and decision making with the knowledge and ability to interpret and develop key insights from available data to drive strategy
  • Strong work ethic and personal integrity; engender trust and influence all levels across matrix
  • Strong executive presence with ability to command respect and gain credibility through exercise of sound business judgment, clear decision-making, and excellent communication
  • Travel will be required, both domestic and international, up to 20%

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to direct reporting HR members and participate as member of the HR Leadership Team (HRLT) serving as a representative of HR leadership globally, creating opportunities for coaching and collaboration across the full HR organization.
  • Serve as lead HR partner for the 4 L1's joining as a member of their senior leadership teams to provide the strategic direction in organizational design, talent management and other key people initiatives; serve as subject matter expert to align people programs globally.
  • Function as an integrated senior leader of the business, working with and influencing other business leaders to make data-based decisions in areas such as organizational design, talent development and pipelining, and leadership expectation and accountability to further talent progression in pursuit of overall business strategic goals.
  • Identify the need for HR programs and strategies to support business objectives and collaborate across the HRLT to deliver in the areas of organizational development, performance.
  • Responsible for aligning and maintaining critical KPIs that are identified to best drive the strategic talent initiatives that will impact the overarching goals of the organization, problem solving and implementing solutions when not on track
  • Lead the development and execution of large-scale transformation initiatives, managing change across multiple departments and functions to achieve strategic goals.
