About The Position

We are seeking a business-minded, people-centered VP, Group Lead to provide end-to-end leadership of a defined account group within our Medical and Scientific Communications organization. This leader balances strategic vision with operational rigor, translating divisional strategy into actionable plans that drive profitable growth, service excellence, and team development. With responsibility for a ~$6–8M portfolio, the VP, Group Lead owns revenue performance, margin delivery, utilization, forecasting accuracy, and overall business health—while fostering a collaborative, high-integrity, high-performance culture.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of functional experience (Client Services or Scientific) within a medical communications, healthcare communications, or related agency environment. Individuals with a client services/account management background is preferred, but strong commercially minded leaders with a hands-on background in the delivery of medical and scientific communications may be considered.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing $5M+ portfolios.
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated success managing revenue, margin, utilization, and forecasting.
  • Credibility and presence with senior client stakeholders; experience serving as a strategic advisor.
  • Track record of driving organic growth and leading new business efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with a collaborative, high-integrity approach.

Responsibilities

  • Execute divisional strategy within the assigned business group; translate strategy into clear, actionable plans.
  • Own revenue, margin, utilization, and forecast accuracy for the group.
  • Participate in quarterly and annual client planning sessions to challenge thinking, shape strategic direction, and identify cross-sell/upsell opportunities.
  • Drive organic growth and account expansion through proactive client growth planning for high-priority accounts.
  • Take a leadership role in RFP responses and new business development initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to expand service offerings; partner with the SVP and Executive Leadership Team to build and execute growth plans.
  • Oversee and manage budgets, staffing plans, and resource allocation to ensure financial stability and delivery efficiency.
  • Ensure achievement of revenue targets and utilization thresholds, including target billable hours.
  • Conduct regular reviews of team structure and talent deployment to optimize growth, performance, profitability, and development.
  • Mobilize resources across groups and enterprise-wide as needed to ensure seamless delivery and service excellence.
  • Drive adoption of processes and tools to elevate quality, consistency, and efficiency across deliverables.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a strategic advisor.
  • Champion the integrity, quality, and compliance of all client deliverables.
  • Ensure all work meets the highest standards of scientific accuracy, regulatory compliance, and client expectations.
  • Lead Business/Functional Leads within the group; develop next-level leaders and drive succession planning.
  • Foster a people-first, high-performance culture focused on collaboration, growth, and accountability.
  • Serve as a visible, engaged mentor and role model.
  • Champion knowledge sharing and elevate business acumen across all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate closely with peer Group Leads and functional partners to advance the One Citrus vision.
  • Provide regular performance and business updates to the SVP.
